SP map conversions by MaxiKing6

Have you ever heard the US comment: "WE'VE GOT CRICKETS!" In a really, panicy, frantic way? They scream it, but quietly.

I hear that every once in a blue moon, and when I do it's always something different. I sent a Volks squad in and they screamed it, on the other hand I sent a Tiger in and they did the same thing. It's got me pondering what "crickets" are and why they are so friggin dangerous you have to shout it.

Which unit does that say? And does it do that also in skimishes?

"Crickets"? I think those were "Krauts" - "We've got Krauts here"

Hello fans!  ;D

From now on, there will be a change in the way I release the maps. You will get to see the ingame maps as before, but I won't provide download links anymore because, due to the low popularity, the files are down, faster than I can upload the next map.
Instead of doing that, I will create kind of a map pack that I'll release when it's done (to ensure everyone has the same version of the maps and make it more comfortable to download/play.
I'll disable the download links for Arnhem and Oosterbeek, Vierville stays downloadable because it's final and it's a long way until I can release the "Invasion of Normandy Conversion Pack".

The first mappack will be the "Operation Market Garden Conversion Pack" and you can exspect it to be released at the end of this month, including Arnhem (4p), Oosterbeek(4p), Valkenswaard(4p/6p), Best (8p) and Wolfheze (6p).

I hope you understand this step.

Nice, although the middle Strategic Point up on the smaller island doesn't seem to serve much purpose.

Not everything has to make sense :P
What would your suggestion be to make this sector of a higher priority?#
Just take out paint and make one of your fabulous and fanstastic paintings, please. It's not too late yet.

I would suggest stretching the territory of that Point to surround the nearby Munitions and Fuel Points.

What I would do:
switch this +16 mun nearby Hall with this +5 mun on island. Then use this strategic point to surround this +16 mun point, so if players want to have munitons income they will be forced to defend both points.

I think that's placing it a bit too close to one of the HQ's. Putting that muni in the middle makes the players compete and struggle for it.

Maybe put it in the destroyed house, if troops can get in there?

O.k., well, be sure to post the Tactical Map again when you're done updating it again, so we can tell you you're doing it wrong again.

Move Ammo to destroyed building.
Extend Strategic territory.

Eh, i think the town hall should have high Munitions. to increase the value of the area. It's not bad, though.

I like your version better though. It makes the north more equal to the south.

Umm if im understanding pariahs suggestion correctly your going to have three strategic points next to each other which isnt really ideal instead you should change the left and right, top strat points (the ones with the VP's) into low fuel. As for the top, middle muni keep it where it is, extend it upward and remove the medium fuel at the top.

As for the values of the muni at the Manor if that was to go up you'd probably want to lower the value of the north muni to 10, as you currently have 51 muni on the map which is enough.

I was imagining the strat points area in more of a U shape cutting off that top muni from the two fuel points either side, whilst the muni was able to mantain its original position.

Could you just make a little sketch of that map on your own and post it here?

@pariah it's not ideal generally you want them seperated otherwise whats the point they might as well be one area not three 2 is fine bt not 3 is a bit much :\

The points are separated enough, and they cover different points, so i think it's fine. And there are actually 5 connected, when you look down past the bridges. I see no problem with this.

Yeah. There's also a 2-player Best, which looks remarkably like that island with +16 Munitions. ;)

It is. I forgot to move it after I placed it in the nearest players base to create a new territory around it.

Actually, Relic made its map "Hochwald Gap" out of the campaign map. It's altered though, so I made a new, original, direct conversion of it.

If you kept watching the poll, you may have recognised that I only need to finish Valkenswaard to release the first map pack! :D

Hmm... I don't remember the Hochwald Gap being in the campaign... :-\

Best was in the campaign. Hochwald Gap is the MP version, Relic just changed few details and the maps name. Also the aforementioned map Best (2) is a little stamped area from the maps center.

I actually was asking if Best was in the campaign. (I never played the TOV campaigns) Sorry for the mix-up.
