I did finish one. Initially it was going to go on the launcher as a button but we ran out of time. It should be saved in a common folder IIRC (My Documents?) But I have no idea where it is. When you install EF it comes with it. It's a PDF, try searching your computer...I have too many copies spread out amongst my computer to be able to find the release copy.

So far we've done commentary shoutcasts for 1.6, but we can also do review shoutcasts, to comment on how the requesting player can improve their gameplay.  Remember our first shoutcast with you and Neo?  We're not Seph or any shit like that, but I think review shoutcasts can still serve to help EF noobs.

I'll keep that in mind ;). And what does Seph do ???.

Pro player.  Used to rape Brits with Axis back in the Kangaroo days.  Took it like a man.  No bitching in-game like 90% of the people playing this fucking game.  If he wins, he won't talk pride nonsense, and if he loses, he wouldn't make gay excuses or bitch all about it to the victor.  Sure he'd post civilly about the balance later, but that's different from bitching about a loss.

Learned a bit of my T2 Terror from his replay packs back in the day.

EDIT: Replay file is up for the recent 2v2.

Re: Sublime EF Shoutcasts

really nice intro/outro. you should go on doing such a great job.
i would find it nice if you can tell at the beginning of the shoutcast a bit about the map which is played on and about its important and strategic spots, like buildings, choke points or hedges. don't know if you wanna do this but i think it would help noobs like myself to improve their gameplay.
Thanks again

Re: Sublime EF Shoutcasts

Hey Moti thanks for the support!

We dicided so far not to talk about maps because we fell that it will get repetetive and booring in the long run. But future casts we can fill in abit about the maps, 1 time for each map until theres no more new maps to talk about. We dont want it to be the same shit everytime ofc  ;)

But to the topic...
That was an awesome shoutcast... ;D
Still room for improvement but it really get better by each shoutcast, you two are impressive...
The intro also good and the game itself is one of the best I've seen from CoH (and the best from Eastern Front)...
Really close game and I thought the Soviet gonna lose for several times...

Keep up the good job! :D

This is obvious. you don't have to do it everytime, i thought it could give the shoutcast a bit of an introduction if there is nothing to talk about

Re: Sublime EF Shoutcasts

Thanks a lot for your shoutcasts guys!

I liked them from the beginning and they keep getting even better. The new intro is awesome!

I also don't mind zooming in, swearing, swastikas, or switching sides. And shoutcasts are a personal thing anyway. They are best when you do what you feel you shoud do.

Great PE skins by the way. And I even like your accent :).

Aye, these are really good. Dont have any time to play EF but these give the mod a really nice showcase.

You guys of thinking of showing off a classic match up? Using the RMC or ensuring players are using the EF reward units to demonstrate all the added strats and stuff on top of the Soviets?

Keep it up.

Re: Sublime EF Shoutcasts

Thanks for all the support guys!  :D

@Luz777 We have talked about also doing vCoh shoutcasts in the future. We don't want vanilla matchups for ouer EasternFront shoutcasts because  we have allways felt that if we did EF shoutcasts it had to contain as much EF content as possible. Thats why we require minimum 1 EF faction in each game. If you want to see the allied EF reward units in action, you gotta wait for the Ostheer to come out and fight them :) As for the RMC ouer offical policy will allways be "Fuck the RMC" Any replays submitted to us containing the RMC will be rejected right away.

@Motti We will do it in ouer next shoutcasts :)

@IEatBolsheviks The intro wich MaxiKing made is getting improved further by him. You will maybe see it in the next shoutcast  ;D

And again thanks to all the peepz who enjoy watching ouer shoutcasts! Remember if you subscribe to ouer youtube channel you will get the new shoutcasts 24hr before it will be announced in this thread.

Just as a side note: Guards are not op, you simply need 4 man squads when you want to fight them ;) The nades they throw got the same stats as US nades.

Really? I totally disagree! As you see in the shoutcasts there are serveral instances where the guard squards just do superman alike stuff. Taking down 3x 4man mp44 squards with def vet and then retreating without allmost loosing any men seems pretty OP to me. There was also a instance where 1 guard squard raped my AC from long range rofl. This needs to be looked at further imo.

Anyway thanks for the support and nice game

Re: Sublime EF Shoutcasts

I wouldn't call it rape on the AC. They just did marginally more damage to it than it was to them. Many of those PGs were low health already and I agree you really need 4 man squads against Soviets - against Guards in particular.

You mainly lost your units to the grenades, if you had dodged them better it would have been a lot different.
Currently we've put Guards on our watchlist and fine tune them if necessary. We're also adressing some small issues with soviet smg's and assault rifles in general.

EDIT: And yes, Cold War matchups are epic :D

Re: Sublime EF Shoutcasts

I still think the Guards were somewhat too strong and need tuning.  Guys, please check how well 4 man Group Zeal vet 3 Def PGs do versus vet 3 Guards with vet 3 full offensive global.  Just look at 29:20, even after moving the nades do nuclear AoE.  And also 48:10...no Guard nades thrown, 4 men group zeal and still raped.  That was really no excuse there.

Anyways, I was wanting to give our subscribers some lead time, but it seems the secret is out.  Thanks for the support guys  :)

Re: Sublime EF Shoutcasts

29:20 - The PPSs here were fine, you were running away. The nade was a pretty perfect hit, the move was quite late.
48:10 - The back 2 squads weren't really helping out, they should've moved closer. The first two were focus fired. The guards were also taking mass damage. You could've crushed them if the back two squads were microed a little closer.
If you get into an argument with me, you're wrong.
#110896

Re: Sublime EF Shoutcasts

You really need to play the game to feel the frustration I think.  We'll even discount the nades arguement, since I see Rangers get the same nades, and Guards are elite infantry too.  We're pretty fine with the nades.  But 48:10, we weren't even counting the 2 squads in the back.  Just counting the first two that got raped in seconds.  One of the squads barely had the time to throw a flame nade (that does nothing versus the Guards) before getting mowed down.

Just counting the 2 squads vs 2 squads, Guards lost 2 men to small arms, CS none.  PE lost a whole squad, and another squad had to retreat with half health.  If the first squad had stayed, I'm certain it would have been totally destroyed too; and it wasn't even focus fired.

Again, please check how well 4 man Group Zeal vet 3 Def PGs do versus vet 3 Guards with vet 3 full offensive global.  Sandbox it or something.

Just out of curiosity Snugz, why didn't you make a Panzer IV Infantry Support Tank ???. Im no expert but I would imagine that would have helped vs Guards. I know their AT nades are powerful but still :P.

A P4 would have been excellent for Snug against the incoming Soviet Horde. ACs have paper thin armor and would have been ripped apart. However at the time I THINK Snug was accounting for the TH's, ATGs, and the incoming AT tanks like the IS-2 and the SU-76 but didn't notice the state of despair Darc was in. It would have been the correct counter to those Guards.

MP44s have more utility though. P4s can't cap, and they can't combat ATGs or THs effectively enough. He needed something to cap with and to combat other things (ATGs and THs).

Re: Sublime EF Shoutcasts

Hey, nice replay, but guards are even out when facing vet 3 KCH or alot of PGs. I got a game with matti2 that i played. I kind of sucked, but that was mainly because i didn't field nowhere near as many units as a proper Soviet commander should. I'll send the replay later today.
Also, why the hating on the Tiger Ace and Jagdtiger?  ???

Re: Sublime EF Shoutcasts

Interesting replay, I can certainly see that Guards need a little work, maybe a range nerf, but that's for balancers to decide.

One thing... was wondering if Yauz could disable 'Object Scarring' in options? Wasn't such a problem in this game, but the majority of custom models tend to have flickering 'burn' textures, it's kinda ugly. Overall though, great replay.

This is a hot topic on the internal.

I noticed the JP4 was flickering but it's not such a big deal. What the hell does object scarring take away anyway?
"Balancers are 10 a penny"
#110947

Re: Sublime EF Shoutcasts

'Object Scarring' controls the burn marks that appear whenever a vehicle is hit by a shell. I have no idea why the skins flicker, might be an export problem or failing to apply a certain modifier before exporting. Some vehicles don't have it, I noticed the ISU and JPzIV don't suffer from it too bad but the T-34, IS2, T70 and T90 do. It's something I've been meaning to test for ages now, but I can never find the time to sort out my export tools. I might have to import some stuff and see what we're doing wrong before we export the rest of these vehicles.

Well I wouldn't say it's spammable. The only squad I'd be using it with is volks though, they can throw 3 nades at a time as opposed to Grens whom throw 2 or KCH whom throw 1.

If they're being spammed you need to deny the ammo. Or they aren't placing enough mines or are not getting shrecks. Use that to your advantage. If your opponent goes blitz off the bat for assualt nades (WHY?) then go for a quick M8 if you can afford it. He likely won't have shrecks or the muni for a faust.

I've seen a M8 kill a StuH.

That'd also be a weird way to go through your doctrinal trees but it's the correct way as far as I'm concerned for Blitz. The other two abilities lack practicality in early and mid game.

Re: Sublime EF Shoutcasts

It was a 2v2, and the PE went heavy light vehicles to include light AT half-tracks and marders, and the problem i had was that my units would march to the front and get downed, forcing me to either lose them or retreat them a long way back to base. Also, It didn't help that my SU-85 got killed quckly, and my arty firebase only got to fire one barrage before it died.  :'(

Re: Sublime EF Shoutcasts

New shit.  We've opened up coverage on the Western Front.  Don't worry, we'll still keep doing Eastern Front shoutcasts too of course; its just that we're totally out of EF replays to work with right now.
#110996

Re: Sublime EF Shoutcasts

Basically balanced 1v1s boil down to Angoville, Langres, and Semois. They each offer their own taste but they are THE most balanced 1v1 maps.

I like all three. Each has it's own advantages and disadvantages. Langres is quite small and offers lots of flanking play, cutoffs, and plenty of resources, but combat is fairly dominat on the east side not the west. I feel the map is a bit crowded too which makes it deathtrap for mines.
Angoville is the average I feel. It's got 2 sides to it, a more urban enviorment which is fueled further by the hedges which block some flanking and leaves mining operations easy to do on the main road. The field on the left also offers better flanking advantages for the allied factions, and allow more maneuverability. The only problem I feel I have with this map is that basically it's low points and high points, and if you hold one side of the map you can win.
Semois is also a more urban enviorment. Mines make huge nasty traps on this map and I feel it's fairly balanced. Cutoffs will hurt you in the longrun if you don't watch your flanks.

My chart goes Semois=Langres>Angoville
"Balancers are 10 a penny"
#111011

Re: Sublime EF Shoutcasts

I like Langres (which is weird since I hated it a while ago :P) but I feel Semois has better resources spread out (medium fuel and muni around the tops + sides, harrassing). Langres is good with its strat points which encourage harrasing. Although I feel starting from the top of Langres is easier than the bottom. Is that just me ???

Edit: I thought you guys didn't want Brits :P. Change of heart? ;D

Semios has the high fuel directly right next to your base.  Enough said.
