Indians fought in this battle. While it would be nice to have soldiers of other races playable, there is jsut to much work involved for just one map.

Re: Forgotten Hope 2

Hello and welcome back to another update of Forgotten Hope 2.

We are back after a short holiday break with our first update of the new year. Today we are showing off a light bomber that saw action in the harsh environments of North Africa; the British Hawker Hardy!

Forum post image

The Hawker Hardy started life in the 1930s as the Hart; a small and nimble bi-plane that was used primarily as a light bomber by the RAF. The Hardy came to life later on in what was essentially a tropicalised, general purpose variant of the Hart. Combat sorties were mainly against forces in Italian-occupied areas of Africa, but the aircraft also saw action in several other countries with several other air forces. While the last official mission occurred in May 1941, some were kept in service by the British as a communications aircraft. The RAF Hawker Hardy was made by Herc.

Re: Forgotten Hope 2

Hello and welcome back to another update of Forgotten Hope 2.

Our first render of today is of a British tank that holds a special place in the Forgotten Hope community, having been suggested heavily by the community. It is the Churchill Mk. III infantry tank!

Forum post image

The British Churchill was a heavy infantry tank that came into service in 1941. It was large, well armed, well protected, and would spawn many Churchill-based variants later in the war. In 1942, six Mk. IIIs were sent to help fight the Germans in North Africa. Armed with 6-pounder main guns, the tanks of "KingForce" were reportedly able to hold out and only sustained minor damage from anti-tank guns. The Mk. III would be later replaced by the more numerous Mk. IV variant, but not before the Mk. III would be credited with capturing the first Tiger tank for the western Allies. The Churchill Mk. III tank was made by Toddel and Kraetzer. It was exported and coded by Kev4000.

20mm? Yes, there are several versions: the static version can be found on many africa maps that also have planes. There are also some that are mounted on Opel Blitz trucks (or are those Vierlings? can't remember now). On ramelle neuville there is on that is pushable by hand and has the gun shield removed like in Saving Private Ryan.

Flak 38 ( one barrel) is common on desert maps. Also there's version of Opel Blitz with it mounted on the top. I haven't noticed the Flak on Ramelle though.
Flak 38 ( four barrels) is found only as fixed position on most of the Normandy maps featuring aircraft. There's also Wirblewind too. So far there is no Halftrack Hanomag with flakvierling on it, but I hope it will soon be done :D

Re: Forgotten Hope 2

Hello and welcome back to another update of Forgotten Hope 2.

Before we get on with this week's update, please welcome two new developers to the team; Nissi (3D Art) and Void (singeplayer).

We are back after a week's absence with a brand new Italian weapon that should help keep the skies clear over the African desert. It is the Breda Model 35 20mm AA gun!

Forum post image

The Cannone-Mitragliera da 20/65 modello 35 (Breda Model 35) was an light, 20mm anti-aircraft (AA) gun that was designed, produced, and fielded by the nation of Italy. Originally, the gun was used a dual-purpose gun, seeing excellent results against both aircraft and lightly armored vehicles. However, the Breda 35 also found life on board various vehicles and ships such as the Panzer I, Fiat L6/40, as well as both Italian and Finnish torpedo boats. In North Africa, so many of these AA guns were captured by the British that it allowed various ships and vehicles to be equipped with them. The Breda 35 20mm AA gun was made by Kraetzer and exported by Kev4000.

Re: Forgotten Hope 2

Hello and welcome back to another update of Forgotten Hope 2.

This week we are showing off the older brother of the famous M1919 machine gun; the M1917A1 Browning machine gun!

Forum post image

The Browning M1917 was a belt-fed, water-cooled machine gun that saw combat use all the way through the 20th century. The original gun came to be known as the M1917 and first saw combat use at the tail end of World War I. After the war the weapon received various mechanical upgrades and changes, and was given the designation of M1917A1. Being a general purpose machine gun, it was used extensively by numerous countries throughout the Second World War. The large barrel jacket and additional water-cooling equipment meant that the 1917 was quite heavy, and was traditionally used as a static weapon for defense. The Browning M1917 was made by Seth Soldier and exported by Kev4000.

Up next we have three brand new in-game screenshots to show off. The first of which is the M1917 mounted on a jeep on the map Eppeldorf. The next two showcase the Breda 35 Italian AA gun mounted in the back of a Fiat truck, and the British Hawker Hardy in action on the recently announced map, Battle of Keren.

Hello and welcome back to another update of Forgotten Hope 2.

We are back this week after the short break with some new in-game screenshots. We start with the Spitfire Mk. IX, which was kindly donated to us by Clivewil of the Allied Intent Xtended mod.

Forum post image

Forum post image

As you can see, the Mk. IX will be available in both desert and Normandy paint schemes, and will be featured on such maps as Mareth Line and Operation Totalize. The Spitfire Mk. IX was created by Clivewil and textured and coded by Kev4000.

The next vehicle for today is the M3 Stuart light tank which was revelaed some time ago in a render. Today we are showing it off in the full beauty of FH2. The M3 Stuart was exported and coded by Kev4000.

Re: Forgotten Hope 2

Update time

QuoteHello and welcome back to another update of Forgotten Hope 2.

We are back after a week-long break with our second update of the month. Today we are showing the Italian Army with two brand new weapons of war, the first of which is the Italian Fiat M11/39 medium tank.

Forum post image

The Fiat M11/39 was an Italian medium tank that saw action in both Italy and North Africa from 1939-1944. While over 100 of these armored vehicles were produced, they did suffer from considerable drawbacks. The first of which were with the armament. The main 37mm gun was mounted in the hull, and thus could only traverse a small amount. The other weapons included dual 8mm machine guns mounted in the turret. While these could be rotated and operated by one man, the turret itself was still very small and had manually-operated controls. While the M11/39 was somewhat successful against the earlier, Mk. IV British tanks, it was largely outclassed by the later, heavier Allied ones. The Fiat M11/39 was made by Sorken and exported by Kev4000.

Our next piece of equipment originally started its life as a French gun, but was eventually adopted by the Italians and became known as the Cannone da 105/28.

Forum post image

The Canon de 105 mle 1913 Schneider was a French, 105mm artillery gun that saw action in both World War I and World War II. After 1918, France sold many of these guns to other countries, including Italy where it was renamed to Cannone da 105/28 and saw service until 1943. Some of these artillery guns were also produced in Italy, under license.

We would like to give a special "thank you" to the Battlefield 1918 and The Great War development teams for dontating this exceptional piece of equipment to us. The model was created by Regulator and textured by Don Durandal. You can visit their ModDB page here.

Re: Forgotten Hope 2

Hello and welcome back to another update of Forgotten Hope 2.

This week we are bringing even more updates to the Italian forces in the form of two fighter planes; the Macchi C.200 and the Macchi C.202.

The Macchi C.200 (MC.200) was a single-engine Italian fighter-plane built by Aeronautica Macchi in 1939, and was used by the Italian Air Force throughout the entirety of the war.

Forum post image

Since Italy entered the war in 1940, the MC.200 flew more missions than any other Italian aircraft. While it had an all-metal frame, an air-cooled engine, and excellent maneuverability, the MC.200 also lacked power and a sufficient armament. However, that did not stop it from becoming an excellent fighter-bomber. Over 1,000 Macchi C.200s saw action in Greece, North Africa, Yugoslavia, the Mediterranean, and Russia. The Macchi C.200 was made by Herc and exported by Kev4000.

Our next aircraft is one that should already be familiar to fans of FH2. For several years now, the Macchi C.202 has sat idle as an objective on the map, 'Operation Hyacinth'. However, in the upcoming patch, players will be able to experience the full glory of this plane as a fully flyable aircraft!

Forum post image

The Macchi C.202 Folgore was very similar to the MC.200 in that both were produced by Aeronautica Macchi and flown by the Italian Air Force. The MC.202 was a development of the C.200 and thus had a more powerful engine and a more streamlined airframe. The Folgore would see action on all fronts that Italy was involved in, and the C.202 would develop into a deadly fighter plane. However, just like its older brother, the MC.202 had its share of drawbacks. It lacked any serious firepower, and the two machine guns it was armed with would frequently jam. In addition, both the radios and the oxygen system were highly unreliable. Despite all this though, many consider the Folgore to be the best and most undervalued aircraft Italy fielded during the war. The Macchi C.202 Folgore was originally created by Mange and Barracuda, updated Herc, and exported Kev4000.

Re: Forgotten Hope 2

Hello and welcome back to another update of Forgotten Hope 2.

Up first we have a brand new aircraft-mounted, German machine gun, the Mauser MG81.

Forum post image

Intended to replace the older, magazine-fed MG15, the MG81 was a belt-fed, aircraft-based machine gun in production from 1940 to 1945. It saw use as both a single and twin mount (MG 81Z) in various Luftwaffe aircraft, including the new Ju87 D-1 Trop shown below. The MG81 was made by Herc and exported by Kev4000.

Our next two renders are of an updated version of an aircraft that has long since been in FH2. It is the Ju87 D-1 Trop.

Forum post image

Forum post image

The Junkers Ju-87 D-1 came into service shortly after the Battle of Britain, and included several improvements over previous versions. Such changes included a better cockpit, more armor, an increased bomb-load, a more powerful engine, and a rear-facing MG 81Z for protection. The Ju-87 D-1 Trop was made by K96, AceS, and Herc, and was exported by Kev4000.
