Where do you see the coordinates?

When you mount the weapon(s), you see two discs, displaying numbers in degrees. Move your mouse so that both discs display 0.

So when you recieve coordinates, you move both turn dials to 0? Or you trun it to whatever numbers you get ??? ???

Turn them to 0. The 0 always marks the coordinates, so it may move if the coordinates are changed ;)

TY. I wanna try it now :P. Too bad there are always people on the arty guns :(

Hello and welcome back to another update of Forgotten Hope 2. This week's update is somewhat of a special one. Not only is today's render of a prominent vehicle in Forgotten Hope history, but we are also announcing the start of a new weekly screenshot contest. Enjoy!

Our render for today is of a vehicle that holds the title of being the first creation for the original Forgotten Hope modification - the BA-64B!



The BA-64 was a small, lightly armed, 4x4 armored car that was used by Soviet armies primarily for reconnaissance and liaison tasks. Nicknamed 'Bobik', the BA-64 was armed with only a DT light machinegun, and suffered from a lack of any major weapons. However, this did have its advantages. Combined with excellent maneuverability and speed, these nimble scout cars saw large success in urban combat. BA-64s were even able to fire on enemy soldiers hiding on the top floors of buildings and low-flying aircraft since the gun was able to be elevated so high. The BA-64 was produced from 1942 - 1946, with an estimated 9,110 made. The BA-64B was created by Toddel.

Since the initial release of Forgotten Hope 2, players have been taking and sharing screenshots all across the internet. Well now there is a way to put your photography skills to work. With the start of this week we are making known a new weekly contest - the Screenshot of the Week!

Starting today, we will be accepting one screenshot submission from anyone who wants to participate. At the end of the week, the best one will be picked, and featured on our website for one week. You can look here for all of the rules and submit your screenshots.

Lastly, we would like to let everyone know that the monthly Forgotten Hope Game Night (FHGN) is almost upon us! Be sure join your fellow players on Sept. the 24th at 18:00 GMT for some intense FH2 action! A quick 'thank you' to the Forgotten Honor tournament for hosting the server. See you out there!

Anyways a Q for u. Will there be a playable Soviet faction in the near future for FH2? Or are these models sorta for fun :P and a Soviet faction is not a priority

Next patch will not have Soviets, but after that all bets are off.

Hello and welcome back to another update of Forgotten Hope 2.

Some of our more keen eyed fans may have noticed there was a very important piece, the DT machine gun, was missing from the BA-64 that we revealed last week. This week we are showing off the infantry version of the DT; the DP-28 light machine gun!



Nicknamed the 'Record Player' by the Soviet army, the DP was a cheap and reliable machine gun that started out in 1928. It quickly gained a reputation for being able to withstand sand and mud, and still come out able to fire off more than 500 rounds. The DP did have its share of drawbacks however. The bipod was weak and was unable to handle the abuse of firing the large 7.62mm rounds. Another problem came from the distinctive pan-style magazine on top. Capable of only holding 47 rounds, the DP was less effective at sustained fire than its belt-fed counterparts, since re-loading each magazine took so long. The DP saw Soviet front line service from 1928 to 1960, with approximately 795,000 made, including many sub-variants and licensed remakes. The DP-28 was made by Seth Soldier.

Probably. It will be rare however, because the SVT40 was not standard issue anymore by 1943/44.

Because they were expensive to produce and hard to maintain by hastily trained soldiers. That's why the Mosin Nagant was put back into full blown production and it was replaced by the PPsh41 as a squad leader weapon.

Hello and welcome back to another update of Forgotten Hope 2. We are back after a week of silence, with a render of a brand new Soviet service pistol. Enjoy!



The Tokarev TT-33 was a small, semi-automatic pistol that was developed in the 1930s as a replacement for the aging, Nagant M1895 revolver.

The TT-33 started life however, as the very similar, TT-30. After passing its first set of trails and tests, the weapon was eventually accepted for combat use. Even as it was put being produced, small changes were still made to various parts of the pistol, including the barrel, frame, and trigger. The result was the TT-33, which was widely used amongst Soviet forces. Being able to withstand tremendous amounts of abuse, the TT-33 quickly gained a reputation for being very reliable, and thus was very popular with many non-Soviet forces. For example, the 7.62 Tokarev round was very similar to the German, 7.63 Mauser round. Many TT-33s were captured by the Wehrmacht and given the designation, Pistole 615(r). Over 1.7 million TT-33 pistols or variants were produced, and the pistol is still in use today by a few countries. The Tokarev TT-33 pistol was made by Seth Soldier.

Before we get on with this Sunday's update, please welcome our newest developer, Stubbfan, who will be responsible for exporting all of the content created by our 3-D art department, into the world of FH2.

This week we have a render of something that no Soviet infantry soldier should be without; the RGD-33 grenade!



The RGD-33 was a Soviet, anti-personal hand grenade that was developed in the early 1930s, with the primary intention of replacing the older, Model 1914 grenade. Weighing in at only 500 grams, the RGD-33 could be thrown between 30 and 40 meters, where it would then explode with a relatively small blast radius of 10 meters. One of the more unusual features of the grenade was the 250 gram metal fragmentation sleeve, which could be fitted around the top. When this was done, the grenade had a blast radius of 15 meters, and would send out heavier, diamond-shaped fragments. The RGD-33 was complex to manufacture and use, and despite its extensive use, it was slowly replaced by the simpler RG-42 grenade, after the German invasion. The RGD-33 hand grenade was made by Toddel.

Our render for today is of one of the most famous and well-known Soviet infantry weapons of WWII; the PPSh-41 submachine gun.



The PPSh-41 was intended to be an inexpensive replacement for the older, PPD-40 SMG, which had been in use since the mid 1930s. The PPSh was mainly a poor man's infantry weapon. It was made from wood and stamped steel, with the barrels made from halved M1891 Mosin-Nagant barrels. The result was a simple SMG with a fire-rate of 900 rounds per minute, that could be produced in mere hours in garages and industrial shops by relatively unskilled workers. Over 6 million of these weapons were produced, and thus used in almost every thinkable way. Entire Soviet divisions were sometimes equipped with the PPSh, and even the German Army officially adopted it. However, one of the most bizarre uses, was as a close-air support weapon, where several of these SMGs were mounted to the forward racks of the Tu-2 bomber. The PPSh-41 submachine gun was made by Seth Soldier.

Also in the pic there is a banana like magazine. I thought the SU only produced drum mags for the PPSH

They were pretty much mounted into the bomber and pointed at the ground.

LOL hundreds of PPSHs pouring lead onto the ground. Doesn't seem very effective :P. New definition to raining from hell.

The SU should have just invested in making a MG XD. That would have solved this, mess :P

This contraption looks like It could sow crops very quickly.

I don't want to come into such a strafing run :P.

This week we have a very special update. Ever since the initial release of Forgotten Hope 2, the only main armies featured on our North African maps were the British, Italians, and Germans. Today, that changes, as we are pleased to announce that in the next patch, the United States Army will be joining that list! Credit to FatJoe for the above image.


Our first render is of something that no soldier should be without while serving in the desert. It's the M1928A1 Thompson submachine gun!



While the Thompson SMG was designed back in 1917, the M1928A1 variant seen above did not enter mass production until just before the events of Pearl Harbor took place. This new version included provisions for a sling, and a horizontal foregrip that replaced the vertical grip of previous versions. Chambered in the .45 ACP round, the Thompson could either be fitted with a 20-round box magazine, or 50-round drum magazine, but frontline combat soon highlighted the problems of the 50-round one. In all, approximately 562,000 were made, with several being sent to other countries, like the Soviet Union, as a part of the lend-lease program. The M1928A1 Thompson was made by Pointblank.

Our next render is of an anti-tank gun that should prove useful when fighting off those early-war German tanks. It's the 37mm Gun M3!



The 37mm Gun M3 was a light ant-tank gun that was used by the United States from 1940 to 1945. The M3 saw action primarily in the Pacific, Italy, and in North Africa, however its effectiveness was different in each theater. The gun first went into action against the Japanese forces on Guadalcanal, and in the Philippines, where it was highly effective against the lightly armored Japanese tanks. In North Africa, the M3 was largely ineffective against the much better protected Panzer III and Panzer IV tanks of the German Army. Such was also the case in Italy, where the M3 could take out Vichy French R35s, but was useless against the Tiger I. By mid-1944, the weapon was nearly gone from service, and by the end of the war, it became official. By then, 18,700 had been produced. The 37mm Gun M3 was made by Darren01.

Mod of the Year Awards

Before we get on with today's update, we'd like to remind everyone that the first phase of voting for the 2011 Mod of the Year (MOTY) competition has started. Be sure to head over to moddb.com and vote for Forgotten Hope 2.

This week we are showing off two tanks that have already seen combat with British forces, but have been re-fitted and re-painted for use by Americans in North Africa. They are the M3A1 Stuart and the M4A1 Sherman!





The British were amongst the first to use both the Stuart and Sherman tanks in combat during the battles of Operation Crusader and El Alamein. American tank crews would get their first taste of combat during Operation Torch, and would go head-to-head against the German Panzer III and Panzer IV. While this was often an even match up, it was the feared Tiger I that could inflict serious damage to a US armored company, and many times it took a strong combination of tanks, air power, and artillery to defeat them. The M3 Stuart and M4 Sherman would go on to serve both the British and American armies throughout the North African campaign until they were ultimately replaced by newer variants in 1943 and 1944. The M3A1 Stuart was done by Pointblank86. The Sherman was originally modeled by Omni, and was re-skinned for Africa by Pointblank86.

Do the German AT kits get the Hafthohlladung?

I don't know, but I guess some might get them.

Maybe you have to find one around the map like naer a Tank Depot? Basically an AT kit with that extra special  Hafthohlladung  ;D

For this week, we are showing off one of the mainstay tanks of the US forces in North Africa; the M3 Lee!



The Medium Tank M3 was an American tank used during the early stages of World War II. Nicknamed the 'Lee' by the British after US General Robert E. Lee, the M3 served two primary purposes. First, it fulfilled the US Army's need for a good solid tank, and the British' need for an immediate delivery of 3,650 tanks. A combination of heavy armor, and a 37mm gun in the turret and a 75mm in the hull meant that the M3 was a good match for its German counterparts. However, the tank was not without its share of shortcomings. It suffered from a high silhouette, poor off-road performance, and its 75mm gun had a limited traverse. As soon as the M4 Sherman was available in large numbers, the Lee was withdrawn from service, but by then, 6,528 had been produced. The Medium Tank M3 'Lee' was made by Pointblank86.

With the winter season now upon us, we here at the development team would like to wish all of our fans happy holidays and hope that no matter where you are or what you are doing, that you are enjoying yourself. We would also like to thank everyone who voted for FH2 in this year's Mod of the Year. With the results now public, Forgotten Hope 2 has received an 'honorable mention' in the Player's Choice category. We are very pleased to see that so many people still enjoy our work, even after so many years. Thank you.

And now as our way of giving back, today we are proud to announce the first map that will be featured in the upcoming patch; Battle of Keren by Schism!



    The Battle of Keren was fought from 3 February 1941 to 1 April 1941 between the colonial Italian army defending Eritrea and the invading British and Commonwealth forces. Keren was a town located in the Italian colony of Eritrea and was of strategic importance to both the Italian and the British forces. The road and railway routes through Keren were the key to access the city of Asmara and the Red Sea port of Massawa.

Wow, that looks so amazing, all the buildings and stuff, reminds me of Far Cry! :D Nice work  :)
