I update to 2.602 
It is better 
but still crashes  in 20-30 minutes :-\

Try lowering your graphics overall. Try for example lowest possible settings and see if it becomes better.

Hi,

Using coh tov 2.601 + EF 1.40, trying run 3vs3 (2ai + 3ai) with MP skirmish, anything maps and game crash after -1 minute.

Tested with or without graphics.

No pb with 1.3x version (or others big mods)

Spec : Intel Qx9650 + 4870x2 (11.5b+cap4) + 4 Go.

1.40 is not compatible with 2.601. You need to update to 2.602.

you must have 2.602 and 1.40 any other combination wont work even if you want them to and post a million question why it wont.

I did that before in EF1.3  It's not working~

I open launcher, press play (I deactivated automatic updater) It loads the screen goes black (as it usually does) but instead of giving me the loading screen it crashes and gives me the "your game crashed do you want to send a report to relic?" window (the yellowish one) but it don't give me any clues about what caused the crash. This is not just with EF it happens when i start any other Company of heroes except when i use the autorun on the Disk.

If this seams to be a problem on relics side ant not EF's please tell me where i can find help about that.

I've tried to check if anyone is experiencing the same freeze as I am, and I havn't been able to find any mention of it:
The game doesn't crash, it just freezes, doesn't matter what faction/map I play, when I start the game, it loads halfway, freezes for a while, then a little while later it will load the rest.
Then, as soon as you get out of the loading screen to the actual game, it just freezes. I can move the camera around fine, click on units/buildings, command trees, but otherwise the actual game is just frozen.
It's just like when you play online, and someone turns of their connection, it freezes in the same sort of way; you can click on units and stuff, but the game itself has paused.
Nothing else happens, it doesn't crash or anything. I've tried to play online with one of my friends, and it kept on asking me to kick him and vice versa.
I've uploaded a screenshot with this post.

It's the map Leningrad and it's bugged at the moment. Already fixed will be included in the next patch I think.

My friend was probably screwing with me when he said his was just fine.

I was playing bastogne, (not a EF map) but that does not matter
It crashes with any map.

That means you're either:

• Playing EF 1.40 with 2.601


• Playing EF 1.31 with 2.602


• Playing EF over Steam CoH BETA-2.602 version.


• EF files were screwed.

There are a lot of posts about that since 1.40 went live. Check if you are running CoH 2.602 and EF 1.40. Other combinations are not gonna work.

If you already did this, uninstall and check that Eastern_Front folder is removed. Reinstall it and if continues crashing post the necessary files mentioned at OP. But the most probably reason of your crash is due to using and unsupported version.

What does it mean if we posted a crash report and never got any official feedback on this thread? Does it mean we didn't submit it right, or that you guys just couldn't figure it out?

It means the error is too obscure to have any chance of being fixed w/o any PDB file/sources in acceptable amount of time.

Can you upload the files cited in the OP?? If your pc doesn't generate those files try increasing your virtual memory. You can try these advices:

Players: 1, 2 and 3 were hard Soviet AI; 4 was hard Wher, 5 was hard P.E. and I was Wher in 6
The game had been going on for less than 10 minutes, 20-10 seconds before the crash I reinforced a mg squad and then sent them an order to move to the northeast edge of my base. 10-1 seconds before the crash I moved my camera to watch another mg squad move up to a bunker I had build on the tiny island. The island was being attacked by Conscripts and Command Squads and I then ordered the mg squad inside the bunker. I noticed the Soviets had repaired the northern bridge and just sent their first squads across. I moved my camera to see what type of units were coming across the bridge (about 4 Ingenery, 2 or 3 Conscripts and one Strelky were all that were visible through the fog of war) and the game immediately crashed.

Computer: Intel e6420, nVidia GTS250, 3 gig of RAM and 32-bit Windows Vista.
Game: CoH 2.602 and EF 1.4 All graphics were set to lowest settings with object scarring off.

Uh guys i don't know my problem is concern as crash or window problem. Now i'm using window 7 Ultimate pack, when i ever i start Coh or along with other games like BFBC2 after running for a while about 5-10 or maybe 30-45 minutes it jump out to the desktop but no crash error was reported and i could proceed playing because my game was still on the taskbar. Sometimes when i got back in but still be removed out again. And my comp run the game smoothly with a little bit laggy- all my settings are medium and high.

Try lowering settings and/or increased virtual memory.

every time I play a skirmish the game crashes 15-20 minutes in, I've plaued as all the factions on multiple maps and I haven't seen anything in common when it crashes except it crashes EVERY game. I have several dmp files to attach for ya

Make sure you are using CoH 2.602 with EF 1.40. If you are using a different combination will crash.

I've noticed every time my game crashes it has to do with the russian SU-85 or SU-122. I hit or destroy one of them there is always a good possibility it craches

Or current SU-122 is bugged atm; to avoid crashings while using it (or being used against you) you can:

• Turn off the scarring in the graphic options


• Uncheck the unit from your reward unit list.

I already tried that, I put all the setting as low as I can but here's my system specs

OS: windows 7 64 bit
processor: AMD Turion II ultra dual core 2.5 GHz

Every constellation is possible. It really doesn't matter.

If you have vCoH you will be able to play as US, Wehr and Soviets and also play the Original Campaign.

You will only need OF to unlock Brits(and the reward Brit faction), PE and it's campaigns.

With ToV you will have all the factions but without the campaigns (only mini-campaigns from ToV are available).

If you own different keys just combine the "features".

i play with evry faction and only and alwys crash with soviet union after 7-10 minuts i think that alwey that ocures when trying to produce new tanks,becose never try nev soviet tanks :),,

i have game boster, create shorcut,incresed virtual memory,,,

HMM.... i was change sound setigns from maximum and some more thing ond sound options and from that i playing with SSSR ALL TIME PLAYED ABOUT 5-6 HOURS AND NOT EVEN SINGLE CRASH,,I DONT KNOW IF THIS HAVE SOMTHING WITH CRASHES BUT FOR ME IS MORE THAN HELPED,,,players who have crashes(but all have do on wright way) try this dont have nothing to loose,,

The map was Lyon two soviet Vs 2 Wehrmacht naval forces were used

First of I want to say that this is one wonderful mod!

I experienced a crash on a custom Stalingrad map that I've been using for a long time with the vanilla game.

It's a six player skirmish game. I was playing as the Soviet Union with 2 npcs as soviets vs 3 wermacht npcs. The crash occured during an attempt to create a unit in my base after 20 minutes of play time. I'have installed Tales of Valor with 2.602 patch and 1.40 version of EF.

I have the game set on the highest settings. My specs are:

Athlon II X4 640 3GhZ Quad core
7 gb of ram
Nvidia GF GTX 460 768 mb
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit OS

  I have some very problem here:'( ,
1.When I wait for loading(about 3/4) It stop and an error message come out.(Always, not all the times)

2.when the tank shot by AT gun or flamethower, it became black and
  my computer become very lag when i soom on it.
 
what should i do ???

If your PC lags while playing you don't have enough resources, could you post your rig?

My EF randomly crashes i cant figure out why. it freezes and puts me back to windows. It happened on  multiple occasions.

Happens with SOVIETS only

This should be critical priority crash. It's making whole game unplayable.


My firend has a crash always as he's playing normally with soviets , we play online with other and he crashes a lot , it's the bug of the mod , the soviets are bugged.


We do not know what map causes this , i just selected some maap and i got a crash too.

NOTE: THE GAME DOES NOT CREATE A CRASH DUMP.  I think there is SOME crash dumps but this time there's none, it may create a dump next time i will continue testing for crashes. My firend said he can't find the dmp file (but he's a lazy guy when using a PC so his word is not like 100%) I have checked many temp folder and none have it , there was one dump but it was old , previously long ago.


The crash chance is 60%. It happens a lot, it's like from early to late-mid game , it's never at the start or at the very very end , it might be late in mid game, or at mid, when i played skirmish alone it was relatively early game.


This is a very critical bug, it's been bugging us half a year i think
- 1.40 didn't fixed ofcourse.

He's system is inferor to mine but still well capable. IDK details of his machine very much but i know he prolly has nvidia GPU and not something high-end (he bought OEM PC)

I got a high end Intel based custom PC, with radeon HD5850 GPU , this same error was happening on my old HD4870 GPU too.

The system is very stable , the rams are even kept at normal 800 mhz while rated for 1066.  And the system is not overclocked.

Prime95 survives an all-nighter no prob. Running Crysis at full gfx too, doing all sorts of modding and apps and whatever.

Is there maybe i can do a manual DUMP of the process when it crahses, ill see what i can do if the process hangs and doesn't closes down too fast.

If you are using a  32 bits OS, you will have similar crashes all the time, we cannot fix that.

Just remember to avoid using ultra settings.
