Eastern Front needs you!

Hello Eastern Front fans,

We have recently opened a new section titled "Jobs" at ModDB where we list the positions that are open in the Eastern Front Team.

At the moment we need:

We also take this chance to tell you that we are havne't stopped to work on Ostheer, here we have a couple of pics for the Infantry Post Gruppen:

After some discussions, we have decided to remove some units and at the end this is how Ostheer is going to be entering to the Alpha(at least the tech structure). We hope in this way balance would be easier to achieve.

The Beta will start soon :)... our balancers will approach to Ostheer and work with it, after that the closed Beta might extend to Donors and special guests ;).

Looks Cool :D. I would apply for either balance or Beta Testing but that's up for discussion I guess :P. And plus Im not that great of a player and don't know what to look for :P

if you guys need more, i could be a balancer. im not the highest ranked, but i know the counters and can play the game. if you want to have tryouts or something just pm me. atm my screen is broken, but im planning on getting that fixed on may 1st.

if you like you can have a 1vs1 against our good old fishhunter :P
500vp normal ress map can be more or less any 1vs1^^

would be also nice to see a rematch (only should always play soviets so we can see how your knowledge about soviets works ingame :P)

at least for everyone who is interested in becomming a balancers, its the same^^
so you dont need to play all vs fishhunter :P
but you should keep in mind 1vs1 games with 500vp and normal ress
the one who wants to become balancer should play at least soviets (sounds logical or?)
for the decition if you fit or not its also not important if you win or loose the game
more important is how you played it

and your enemy should be ~ at the same skill level or better

LOL I am certainly not the deciding factor in this XD. But I guess I am the bench mark. If you beat me, you're above noob lvl. If you don't you need work XD. Or having a bad day ;).

ANd I agree, you could be a pro at vCOH but if you cant play SU for your life then you can't be a balancer :-\.

The SU req makes a lot of sense, before anyone complains or asks why: Ostheer and Soviets are meant to play against each other. Wher and PE have their ups and downs against SU, but Ostheer... ltes just say they were MADE fro each other.

Ape is a specialist when it comes to icons but we need someone who is able to unwrap UVW maps in 3ds max, so it's basicly a job for a 3d Artist, so we can unload our head 3d Artist "Burro".

Uh guys, could i ask for what happened to the panzerfusilier and the flak 38 team, and the opel blitz is now ofiicial for the OH ?

Flak38 team has been removed because it wasn't needed anymore as you are already able to build flak38 emplacements.
The Panzerfusilier were moved to the Forward Support Center (not on the screenshot). This building will get explained another time.

there is just HQ -> Tier1 - > Tier2 -> Tier3
thats the ostheer tech tree

and they can have a FHQ but this is not a Tier or a tech building

It's nice to see that something is happening :P It all looks great and it's especially great to see that ostheer get their own base buildings. Maybe a little too much concrete, but if there was laid a few banners and some tin roofs on some places then it would be mega super cool. and perhaps a search light on top of t1 or something like that.

How do they upgrade different units? And how doo they secure sectorer? And which units can be bought from FHQ? And and and and?

Burro made 2 models of Opel Blitz, a ammo carrier and a fuel one. I hope seeing those in action. :(

Actually those models are both Relic-made. They were just unused so we took them  ;D

Well, two of Ostheers base buildings are based on a certain unused variant of the mortar bunker - Walki modified the model and animated it; the third however he created on his own. ;)

Eh no, actually only the Tier 2 building is based on the mortar bunker.
Tier 1 and tier 3 use only the relic texture and were made by me.

Looking good guys :)

It made me sad not to see the Pak 36 and Mobile Flak 38

Even though the PaK 36 would be useless unless used with the Stielgranate 41, I still think it would be fun firing and dinging off most Vehicles :p

FlaK 38 would be awesome at mowing down Infantry, that would definitely of held back those pesky conscript swarms

But your the Dev's and what you say goes, so i'm not going to argue with you xP

I'm gonna guess that you were able to implement the old "Use the Opel as a vehicle to move resources from sector to base (or off map) to secure the sector" thing that Paciat (if I recall correctly he proposed it), and other Old Guard players used to pray for back then (2 or so years ago).

I can say, the two things that gave too much problems while coding were:

1) Veterancy for Ostheer units
2) Opel Blitz securing system(not what you describe btw ^^)

Everything else wasn't that difficult :P.

Hmm, why not making the flak 38 airborne, can you make it as a paradrop unit in the Army support troops, the Luftwaffe support tree ? Anything wrong ?

But to be fair that would be a good idea if you limited the amount of Flak's you could have on the battlefield, and tweak the cool down for a while it is the Ultimate Anti Infantry weapon :p, just got to look out for the snipers that kill the crew an steal the Vehicle.

But yeah I'm only saying this because I want to cut Soviet Infantry in two with this deadly device :P

I think the reason it's OT is due to the Pictures and the released tech tree :P. But yeah, it is OT.

It was only the wheeled version of the Flak38 that was removed. Partly due to redundancy, Leig18 and Luchs could prove equally brutal against infantry, but also because of animations. Static Flak38 lives on as an Ostheer defensive structure, so cleaving the Soviets in twain with a barrage of 20mm shells is still possible. ;)
