Game crashes to desktop when uploading saved game in Eastern Front v. 1.6

Hi,

I downloaded the EF v1.6 and the game crashes to desktop when loading a saved game.  It never did that with v. 1.5.  What could be causing this ?

What map are you trying to load? It is an EF map?

Only for game crashes.
Located on:
WinXP -> C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp(you can access faster if you use the run box with %temp% command).

Win Vista & 7 -> C:\users\username\AppData\Local\Temp(you can access faster if you use the run box with %temp% command).

Or in weird cases, sometimes in C:\WINDOWS\Temp (you can access faster if you use the run box with temp command).

The dmp file has a generic name but you should be able to identify it by checking the date of creation.

It crashes using EF or Coh maps. It also crashed in skirmish and campaign modes.

I'm actually having the same issue as well.

Game  freezes when uploading saved game in Eastern Front
map - EF_ Rostov - 8p_rostov - save0.cohsav  (same and 8p_montargis region)

now install version EF 1.400 and test map 8p_rostov - normally working and uploading saved game on high-ultra graphics setting

I have the same issue. Game crashes to bug splat after trying to load any skirmish saved game against AI

same problem will all saved games here.

a fix would be nice - it would be great to start a game "from the middle" again...
to shorten up time.

Hi there,

A fix has already been made and distributed to the internal and will be released next patch.

I noticed that Cranial said a fix was made and to be implemented into the next patch im just curious as to what it was exacty that was corrupting the save files?

Adding a requirement_action which needs a required_critical inside a critical makes the trick :P.

Click this link for more information. I'd like to point out that the savegames themselves are broken and even with the patch you will not be able to load those broken savegames. However, any new savegame you create will work just fine.

i am so used to use saved games!!!

I have had the saved game CTD problem as well. I also find I have a CTD problem when I abort a game or complete a game. This does not always happen but usually occurs. If this condition is related to the one thats been solved great! If not I can grab thr files from my next crash report.
