Had they not gotten involved police would have never found the guy I fear. He deserved to be put behind bars.

Infact, according to their code of law, a new rule was added after that incident happened

Well I doubt that, I'm a nobody. I don't even care if they do target me because unlike some people I can live without electronics and in the wilderness. I'm already a hunter, and I am getting extra survival training from my uncle so if need be I can hide in a forest.

If you want to be more broad though, they wouldn't target somebody unless they have a consensus on the fact that a person is breaking laws and/or deserves to be punished or humiliated.

While internet tend to have troll, flamer, and b**ch in forum, people with these kind of ability has some standard that they never break and honor like a hero...

I mean for christ sake they tortured this thing so brutally I even considered just kidnapping the guy and beating the shit outta him before turning him into the police when they posted his address. I'm not a cat lover or anything (Even though I do have one and also have had dogs/cats in the past) but that shit is wrong. There is no reason to take a 2 year cat and throw it against the wall and punch it's head in and then proceed to try and drown it in shower water. That guy deserved it.

Well abuse of power is always a poblem. When one person has all of it, history tells us what will happen (totalitarinism, 1984 anyone?)

But Im sure there are numerous "Annos" so they keep the other "Annos" in check and in balance (like our gov in the US)

No offense, but I think your point lost a lot of power when you mentioned the US government (or pretty much any government for that matter).
Check and balances and a devision of power is a good concept. It works less well however when the people in those positions just work together and tend to 'forget' that they have to do their job of actually checking and balancing the other.

Because it is Top Secret stuff between goverment leaders and über rich persons of the copyright side only and was unveiled by Wikileaks :). They already accepted that it does exist but they are not willing to make public what the ACTA exactly states.

... yes Megaupload is down and it's founders arrested. And ACTA gives governments enough power to block and ban every page. Example: my studies forum - we are talking mostly about studies, history and recent events. And parties, ofc. Now somebody makes a joke and uploads link to youtube movie - and now our entire forum is reckoned as criminal and piracy site and gets blocked. This is how ACTA works. Now think about it in political terms - site that gains anti-government set people - hire somebody to upload "illegal" youtube movie and then block the site down. Fully legal, isn't it?

Previously you could not search large news corporations like fox, abc and NBC because their large central company had supported SOPA, which made sure that the word didn't get out about it quickly enough. Had local news stations done stories on SOPA in October the bill woulda been dead by November. But again, the big wig corporates supported the bill.

First of all, do you honestly think the government is concerned about piracy?
They are just using the excuse of "piracy" to take away freedoms and rights. Just like they use the excuse of "terrorism" to violate our constitution ,declare war on any country they want and take away our rights for our "safety" because the U.S. government cares soooo much about us and wants to contro- keep us safe...

I'm sure a lot more things will be taken down than just "pirating sites" and I'm sure our nice government will make a list of definitions for "pirating sites" some of these sites will most likely include sites speaking against the government, sites that expose some of the secrets these huge corporations are so desperate to remove, sites that might involve "terrorist activity", etc.

As a buisness I would be concerned if my content or services were released for free. I would be at loss for profit and eventually out of buisness due to piracy.

While I disagree with legislation taking action against piracy because of broad interpretation I agree piracy is wrong

Yea I agree piracy is wrong too but the government isn't concerned about piracy its concerned about control of what people say and they are just using piracy as an excuse to take away freedom of speech.

This happened in the past when they wanted to ban alcohol, it made it look good cause you would think only drunks would be against that. But what really was happening was people were making their cars run off alcohol thus hurting the oil companies.

Actually only some alcohol is used instead of a car running on beer. But wouldn't that be nice?

I've never heard of an achocol powered car :P. But I dont think that was the reason for prohibition. Im not an expert or anything but the idea seems far fetched
