Mods ideas

Ya what Fish says is quite true.

However don't think the USSR, Brits and Americans haven't made any leaps forward. As far as I know at least a couple of the Brits squads will be using the EM-2 or EM-1 (depending of course on what Wiffleby wants) and will have a Centurion tank. The Americans will have an M46 MBT for fighting off many of Germany's E-series and other large tanks (not the Maus or E-100 though), and also have M3 Carbines for their Snipers/Counter-snipers. Soviets will have AK-47s, RPDs, SKS and RPG-2s so they get a huge weapons overhaul. The scariest and possibly most annoying thing with the Soviets is their Tank Squadrons. You can have independent tanks but you can also request Large Squadrons of IS-3, T-34/85s, and maybe even T-44/100 for use as a single large tank squad (3-5 tanks per squad) kinda like the RMC Jeeps

Sounds like a semi modern tank storm :P. Should be interesting to watch it unfold :D

Is there anything from the real WW2 that the factions will still use? like ppsh, or mg42, or g43?

Oh yes Erik.

Many Grenadiers still use the good old Kar98k because that was what they had been trained to use and love its accuracy and reliability. Some Wehr and PE Gendarme units will have G43s. The Herman Göring Division Fallschirmjagers are still armed with FG-42s. The Ostheer Grenadiers are all still armed with Kar98ks. Most German assaalt troops will still use StG-44s.

Many Soviet Troops such as the Heavy Engineers are armed with PPSh. Most of the snipers are armed with Scoped Mosin-Nagants.

Most of the American troops are armed with M1 Garands and M1 Carbines. Rifles can get Thompson SMGs while the Draftees can get Grease Guns with a certain doctrine (btw most of this is already released info, you just have to go and read it on the 1949 Moddb news page) West Coast Vets will be armed with M1897 Trenchgun. Plenty of other stuff still in their too. Americans will still have M4A3E4 Shermans and M4A3E8 all across the board and they are quite cheap.

Yes but its aways nicer to have a fellow EF member explain it to us :D. I personally find the ModDB page confusing and awkward to use so it helps to get informal explanations  ;)

Yea that is quite true.

Guess I should mention that there will be a lot of foreign units in this game, but its up to you to figure out exactly how they will be input into the game

I think he means they use a lot of differant nationalitets, for example I saw pictures of Russian liberation army soldiers! Russian voulenteers in the Wehrmacht! ;)

I would like to see a mod that concentrated on adding new factions such as The Hungarian's, French, Italians, Polish, Finnish just to name a few and the many other factions that were involved in World War 2.

No Sommar they will more than likely not be part of the Wehrmacht.

Well to a certain extent, yeah, thats true :P. One person said south africa was where north dakota was (now keep in mind, north dakota is a state in the US XD). I know most countries in Europe but Im unaware that the language they speak has such a different name :P.

German schools or European schools in general are much more concentrated on foreign matters. There's an exchange student from America in my sister's class and before he came here, he was worried that we don't have fridges or cars in Germany.. Seriously?!

TBH most kids in US are under the assumption that life outside the US is a bit..........primitive? Like lack of technology (I-Pads for example) and a bunch of farms. In fact some ppl here lack cars and advanced technology (I've been a town where there was like 3 cars and a bus wtf? I dont remember the name though)

Im sure you're not dumb :P. The reason ppl in the US aren't as informed or as culturally diverse is b/c we live in such a big country that its not really ncessary to go elsewhere or learn new things. Nor do we need to learn new languages cause the US is so big its not really necessary.

However in Europe, there are many small countries so just driving for a few hours will take you into a new place :P. And that new place has a new language, unlike in the US where the universally accepted language is English (although there is no official language)

Unfortunately for the US our education system is a piece of shit when you compare it to countries like Germany. Even Italy comes out on top when it comes to education.

Recent legislation like "No Child Left Behind" tried to fix it but just made it worse. It now mandates that you HAVE to pass everyone or your school does not receive federal funding. So to an extent you can end up failing all your classes yet you are required to pass, instead of taking alternates like trade schools or job training situations.

Yeah American education is crap. I only know so much about foreign countries, cultures, and languages because I'm very good with history, I'm an avid stamp and map collector (I bet none of you can show me where Christmas Island is on a map without the interwebs ;D), and I love learning new things, unlike most of America's youth that wants to be a worthless rapper or a basketball player, or something else rich and fabulous.

It's a huge problem. In my school "Brooklyn Technical High School", we have more Law and Society and Social Science Research majors than all the Engineering majors combined (Mechanical, Electrical, Bio-Medical, Architecture, Aerospace, Civil). My major (Mechanical Engineering) has only 1 class comprising it, and only 5 of the 30 people in it actually wanted to go into it (myself among the 5). I'm sure that should tell you something. All those people want to become Social Majors and become journalists and reporters, or lawyers and poets. None want to become true tradesmen or machinists.

Its funny as fuck because I know better history and geography than anyone in those Social majors, just got 100% on an AP (College/University Level Course) American History Final Exam, nobody in those majors got anywhere close to that number and I have the hardest teacher for the subject.

END RANT.....

I partially blame the policy "First in, last out". COme one, this isn't the marines, this is school! >:(. Sucky teachers are stuck in our school and theres no room for new ones  ::)

I also dislike the policy of "No child left behind" and the idea of standardized test. Its a waste of time and only has American students focused on remembering multiple choice and systematic test taking, not actual world information and real life applications ::). Its stupid when you loook at it and is only a countermeasure to keep students going through who normally wouldnt.

Just like when teachers give another test after most students fail the first one. The students who did well are now in jeapordy of getting worse (matematically wise)just b/c other students didnt study. The only reason its implemeted is b/c teachers need to compensate for the failing students and their own bad teaching  ::). Its like the oppisite of a meritocracy :(

The problem with America is our need for "Freedom."  We want the right to choose everything about our lives from the day we are born until we die. The truth is people may know what they want but NOT whats best for them. Like Highschool kids (including myself back in the day) who say "I dont want to spend 4 more years in school so I'll just coast through HS and work at McDonalds for the rest of my life." I never wanted to work at McDonalds and still dont but you get my point. But when I was in HS I had two visions for my future : Military, or Gunsmithing, now being a convicted felon and an out of shape slob I have the option of neither, but thats more about me and less about America except the out of shape part.

It would seem as though there are too many probems in Americas schooling system and in our youth in general that have led to this irrevocable disease that unfortunatley results in mental atrophy :P.

But back to mods for a moment: WTH ever happened to the Zombie mod ???. I havent heard anything from them :P. Are they dead or taking a break ?

I've heard of the zombie mod before, is it good? I never played it, but it seems good

BTW the Zombie mod is still alive and kicking, they are releasing plenty of interesting stuff, and have almost completely finished their human faction's units IIRC

Just been looking through Moddb as I try to do on a daily basis see if there are any new mods for CoH and stuff, and I saw that a Southern Front has popped up adding the Italian faction, any thoughts on this?

A quick side note...

Fish and his many names...  I just don't know what to say, does he do this stuff in his spare time :p

I dont mean to be hating on Italians or anythng but wasn't their gear inferior to their counterparts? And weren't their tanks also inferior? Im honestly just curious.

And I just like change :P

Aye their equipment was not as good as the Germans, but never the less it still might be a good mod.
