I've seen someone with some crazy ping like 9032. We kicked him on sight ^-^

I've seen ping go past 10,000  :-X

Those were dark, dark days  :(

Its the latency. Its used to discripe how good the transmission in the internet signal is .... Example if you have 60ping your fine, but if you have like 300- 500  you suck and lagg  ;)

Ping is response time for messages to get through to another computer measured in milliseconds. 500ms ping is half a second, which is noticeable ping. Ping doesn't correlate to jittering games though. That is due to unstable and variable internet connection. For example, I always have 400ish ping to all Europeans because of the distance but I have good net so it's stable. Therefore, there is an ever-so-slight delay before orders go through but the game itself runs perfectly fine.

Any ping under 500 is fine for playing IMO as long as the net is stable and won't stutter during the game.

Not in general, but for COH yea under 500 is playable.

Yeah obviously not for a shooter where <100 is essential to be competitive and <30 is ideal.

What?!?  That could mean the difference between a win or loss sometimes.  You're saying that your units take more time to respond than an European player's?

No, I'm saying when I play with Europeans, EVERYBODY in the game now has a 0.4s delay from when their orders get through because it's a p2p game.

Just for information: A peer to peer game means that every player connects to every other player which results in less traffic for the hosting server because messages are send between the players and not first to the server and then to the player... so if everyboy in a game has a terrible ping for you... then you are probably the one who actually slows down the game.

I can't connect at the moment, after a while of loading, it goes server connection failed, server time out.

A good number of ppl use mumble, although the majority is the Devs and Balancers :P. As far as I know, the only non-EF team ppl who use it frequently are neosdark and me :P. And I dont even use it that much so...

IIRC he's in college. So over the minimal age :P. Most ppl on EF are in college and are thereofore, over the minimal drinking age. IDK what it is in Germany but I'd imagine its quite low  ;). So much beer ;D

Despite the fact that this is the wrong topic, I visit kind of a high school (Gymnasium in German), for the highest-skilled pupils (there are three different high schools, beginning after grade 4: Hauptschule for lower-skilled, Realschule for medium-skilled and as I already said Gymnasiukm for higher-skilled pupils).
Beer is allowed at the age of 16, as well as wine. "Harder" stuff may be drunken from the age of 18 on. Look at my profile so you'll see I may drink everything I like ;)

Sunday the 24th is the day of offline-ness.

Should be up and running since a few hours. If it's not working for you do the following steps:

1. Hold Window Key, click R

2. Enter cmd

3. Enter ipconfig /flushdns
