Quick Tiger ace question

Hey dev's

Are the Tiger ace's stats the same as in the original vanilla COH? It was removed because it was OP right?

Many thanks

If it was OP it would be nerfed. It was removed becouse Kingtiger took his place.

Re: Quick Tiger ace question

The ace is actually slightly UP for a one time callin unit because it was designed as a 1 at a time unlimited callin. We're probably not going to adjust it though because making it too strong would be counterproductive.
If you get into an argument with me, you're wrong.

Possibly... What could we give it though?

Re: Quick Tiger ace question

Its a terror weapon, so how about static camo like a hetzer? Or is that a bit too pedestrian. I would suggest covering it in foliage but that would hide that sweet paint job :)

Re: Quick Tiger ace question

I'd rather see some kind of aura or ablility which has Churchill ( can't remember now)- it's weapon of terror, so it should terrorize enemy with it's presence, don't you think?

That sounds good, but will crush anything because is fast :P.

Might controls everything, and without strength you cannot protect anything. Let alone yourself...

Re: Quick Tiger ace question

I see the Tiger Ace as more of a hit and run, ambush type tank, rather than one that wades into the middle like a Churchill. Thats just my impression of it though, it may not be reflected in the stats. I'd have thought a suppression aura would have fitted the KT better.

It would probably be really useful but it just sounds a bit tame for the awesomeness of the Tiger Ace. I still think it should be something based around hit and run attacks and ambush, nothing demoralizes a player like waiting for his expensive top tier tank to roll onto the field and then for a Tiger Ace to come out of nowhere, take it out and then disappear before he can organise a defense. Now thats what the Terror Doctrine is about.

Ah, i got your points. Smoke screen seems like a doable skill to me.
And to put both great idea in one: why not to use the smoke screen ability as a ambush ability?
Yet it was a "received accurancy modifier", in this case it could be changed to a ambush ability, which makes the Tiger Ace invisible if there are no units right beside it for a certain amount of time. Of course, the smoke screen gotta be greater than, to make the tiger really completly disappear.

Would give peek-a-boo Terror a completly new meaning.

My grafic above should just call out balance, i did test the tiger ace at some maps with my cousin, its a good tank, in general a faster tiger. nevertheless, i dont know yet if it does need some buffs, even being very cautious. So im looking forward to some more test reports and certian ideas !

A pak-like ninja Tiger? Why not a nuke?
Give it a brake, people. This tank is perfectly fine, since it's able to circle-strafe kill IS-3.

Re: Quick Tiger ace question

My thought would be sort of like the Soviet Sniper: The Tiger Ace can only camo when:

  • Not Moving

  • In Vehicle cover (Such a value exist, I read about it somewhere on GameReplays)

Upon firing once, the Tiger would give it's position away, which would be the time to strike. You can also make the Tiger hold it's fire until attacking is at a perfect moment, giving a fitting ability to a more stealthy approach, stalking the enemy like the beast it is named after, however, naturally quick to escape from intense danger.

If you're worried about balance concern, you could make it's detection radius fairly high, so the camo only works well when hiding from a distance.

Re: Quick Tiger ace question

Don't give it camo leave that to the Hetzer and Hellcat just give it the terror ability from the Churchill that Cephalos mentioned and maybe smoke launchers from the campaign but instead cloaks it like Commando's. There, there's your camo leave it at that.
