Cant start the game...

When I try to start the game, I get "cant findCOH directory". I tried the Regedit fix listed in this forum, but was unable to find the path or file that it says to change. Any ideas? Also it says try reinstalling the game. Which, the original COH, or COH-Opossing Fronts? Thx in advance

Forgot to mention it was installed in Programfiles(86)\THQ\COH. Is that right?

If you use a CD/DVD the simplist thing to do is reinstall i.e. uninstall then reinstall CoH then repatch it up to the current patch (v2.602 as of 31/5/11).
2ndly, you need to open CoH at least once to ensure regedit takes note of its path.
3rd, you need to install eastern front. Make sure you get v1.4 (as of 31/5/11).

The reason why you got that was probably due to incomplete patch. i.e. it was installing then closed half way. Its simple to reinstall then tangle with bags of knots

I have COH 2.602  When you say "open it at least once" do you mean play the game, and if so, which COH, or COH-Opposing Fronts?

It doesn't matter. CoH, OF or ToV all patch to 2.602. Alright, so let me clarify, Install CoH then open it once. Afterwards install EF. Hoped that helped ;D

Opposing Fronts is already installed. So I uninstalled EF, opend opposing fronts, then reinstalled EF. Same thing, "cant find COH directory".

I have installed it in 2 diff locations, 1. programfiles(86)\THQ\COH

2. programfiles\steam\steamapps\common\COH    Neither has worked, but I dont know which is right or wrong.

Try reinstalling CoH itself. Its not your fault its probably due to the patch so uninstall CoH then reinstall. Did you read this topic also?

Im running a 64 bit system, so I guess the programfiles(86) folder is right, according to that link.

Thx for the help. I uninstalled Opposing fronts, now im reinstalling. Then installing EF, I hope this works, I used to play EF, im looking forward to playing again. Blitzkreig is great, but I want to play something new.

You need to run at least once coh from steam:

You have a registry missing, if after reinstallling and running it your problem continues, post here your full coh path to create a registry entry.

Unbelieveable, after uninstalling both, COH and EF, then re-installing both (i even started up COH before installing EF) it is still doing the same thing. Any ideas?

I tried making the shortcut, like  it says in the link, didnt work. Got a message that it couldnt find it. What path do i need to post, dont understand the other idea.

Make sure you installed EF in the correct path (i.e. COH dir) and not in any other selfcreated folder.

Its in programfiles(86)\THQ\Company of Heroes.
