Actually, a really nice film, unlike that "Stalingrad", which in my opinion, simply sucks.

Just saw brest fortress last night and I have to say... It was an excellent film. I also found out that there is a film coming out about a french volunteer in the german army and its called "The Forgotten Soldier" and looks really good  :)

Boy do I love warmovies. Not that I love war, No no. War is terribel :o But I absolutely love the enviroment in war movies. The best ones are movies that is a differant kind of movie but taking place during a war.

A bad exampel Kellys heroes. I think that movie is more of a comedy/adventure movie but taking place during a war ^^
Thats why I love B-war movies because sometimes they f**k up the storyline big time just for some stupid drama twist XD

I having plans on making one of those myself in the future :D (Yes. I am amateur filmmaker XD)

Cross of Iron 2. 1979

Apperantly there is a cross of iron 2. I havent seen it just the trailer. Not the same actors or anything. Kind of sad because James Coburn made a excellent job as Steiner. Instead they have Richard Burton(!).

However.
By the look of it it is aint even the same director or movieteam. Instead it look like something the rich greedy hollywood producers made to make easy money from the reviews of the first movie XD

I dont understand german sadly. But if I understand the story correctly ( correct me please if Iam wrong) Its about .

ACHTUNG! Spoilers from the first movie!

Steiner survived from the last movie. You didnt see he actually die but in my opinion he died or went bananas and was put out of service FOREVER! XD Samething about Stransky who I always believed Steiner shoot the crap out XD Played by a actor named Helmut Greim.

However he survived and is transferred to the western front. Where he somehowes becomes friend with some American in a coup to assinate Hitler?

I Dont care I want to se the scheise of this movie XD

Steiner Part II is soooo boring and bad...It is unbelievable  ::)
Steiner - The Iron Cross I is one of the best war films. A stroy of a soldier who fought against the red army and his officer to survive this horrible war.
But part II; Steiner back in action! And back in action for US movie theatres! It was such a terrible silly idea to try to make a "Steiner story" for us audience. It was such a terrible idea to implement the "cowboy jankees".
Part II is sh*t -.-

I think Inglorious basterds (the original from 1977) its a masterpiece for exampel ! :D

Jeah. U could be the first how like this movie ;D
For me - Steiner is a "myth" of the eastern front.
The first film had a real story with two great actors
(Maximilian Schell as Stransky was absolutely brilliant!
The perfect arrogant east-prussian  officer).
But the 2nd film with the idea of "Hero Feldwebel Steiner"
who fought for the german resistance (!! US audience? They need such a hero when they want to see a war movie xD )isnt
able to be better then part I...

Part 2 is crap, as I agree with Lord Rommel.

We always have Wheels of terror from 1987 based on the books of Sven Hassel XD

NO! No ! No..! I Know. That movie is worthless and sucks big time! XD
Rather sad because the books are kind of entertaining , even if they are pure fiction lol XD

However. In the end its a movie from the german perspective! ^^ And it got a great couples of panzer uniforms ( A very nice looking uniform indeed!) and even a couples of nudy scenes ;)

I would love to see like Steven Speilberg do a movie based on the Sven hassel books. Like I said before. They are PURE fiction and should never. NEVER be taken for being true and realistic. But they are great stories with a lot of action and humor ^^

I only saw one years ago and unfortunately i forgot the name of it.

But there is pieces of history (germany at war).
A docu of 20 or so episodes of an hour. German newsreals edited and remastered.
