[1.04] Isnt SU-85/SU-100 too expensive?

There was a topic like this in january but I dont know if SU stats changed since then.

I think SU-85/100 is good tank destroyer but its too expensive.

SU-100 is a Hetzer with a better gun but no ambush.
Its more expensive than a Firefly but has less HP, gun and spotting range, no turret.
Also theres no point of getting a 100mm gun upgrade becouse T-34/85 are cheaper, have more HP, can fight infantry, can circle strafe and 2 of them can take on a Panther.
T-34/85 gun upgrade is also cheaper than SU-100 gun upgrade.

I think both SU-85 and SU-100 should cost 50MP less.
I like that SU-85 costs 85 Fuel and SU-100 100 Fuel but both of these should have an ambush ability. Even the BIG ISU-152 can camo!
Also it needs more HP (550-600). StugsIV have 400HP (vet2 has 460) becouse their much cheaper and earlier than a PzIV.

They've been changed to be in line with the new teching system, but not like this. You wait and see....

Camo ability for tanks doesn't really work in COH.....
Hetzer doesn't shoot at anything when camoed unless it parks itself in front of it and just sits there.ISU with camo doesn't work for the same reasons and...who needs camo with such armour and gun?

SUs have much better guns than the german equivalents but are more fragile to offset that. They're also alot faster.
Firefly...well that's just wrong...like many things of the British faction...

well firefly are the only tank correct for end-battle at the ennnnddd of their logistical-scale ... russian are numerous and easy-tank buying ... that's for balance

I haven't used the SU 85 to much but the few times I have tried it I Would rather have had a T-34. Also I just played a game to day where I ended up getting 3 T85s. They are evil!!!

Theres no point of getting a SU if you can get a cheaper T-34 with more HP and a turret.

Also who pays 300ammo, waits till the upgrade is done, then gets a SU-100?
IS-2 needs no upgrades, has twice as much HP and better armor and ist better vs infantry.
All of that costs only 100MP and 35Fuel more!

I agree with Paciat on this one too. I tried to use groups of Su85 or even Su100, but everytime T34 proved more effective in terms of power/cost. Especially group of 5-6 T34/85 proved to be very effective, it's like wolfpack hunting anything quickly down.

Anyway I have strong feeling that this would change in next patch so let's wait for it and then we'll see.

EDIT: I forgot to add that I tried mixed groups of course, some T34s in front and 2-3 Su85/100 behind to kite. Even in those situations T34-85 proven be more effective so it was pointless to obtain any Su. I could see a Su role as kite AT gun like MarderIII, with some ability to lock down and penetrate heavy armors.

Up-ing SU's to SU-100 gives them stell net which was giving tank crews really good (but one-time) cover vs. one-hit rockets like bazookas/panzerfausts/shrecks in WWII. SO, maybe upgrading SU's would give them more HP, lower (a bit, it's thin net not armor) dmg and penetration fron enemy tanks, make chance to hit it with bazooka/shreck/faust rocket half as much as it is now, and lower almost to zero dmg form those rockets?

Edit: I think you should wait for the next patch...play alot and then start balance discussing again.

Actually in the original series the Romulans Had the cloak ability first. Later Gene Roddenberry must have patched it.
