Not sure if this is the right place but it seemed logical: I recently downloaded EF (so its the 1.7 version), that bit worked fine it is in the correct directory (Program Files, THQ, CoH), the CoH patch is at 2.602.0 but when I try to run EF it starts up in the Vanila version...Have I missed something

Most likely you didn't put the correct path in the installer. It should be installed in "Company of Heroes" directory, and not inside another folder

Do I need to download this mod in the same directory as COH:ToV? I have updated EF till date and COH:TOV is 2.602. The launcher does not launch the game :(

You need to install this mod in the same directory as CoH. Just downloading it into CoH directory won't do anything ;).

Check than the path you chose when installing ended with "company of heroes", if you added something more you not did it well.

Hi i just downloaded the Eastern Front Mod and i am quite new at this, i was just wondering if there was a way to just access the Eastern Front Mod without having to launch it through the launcher.
So my main question is can i just play as the Soviets by opening CoH normally, by launching the game through steam?

We have added Eastern Front to Steam Greenlight, but we need all the help we can achieve, It is a long process, but it is the only thing we can do right now. If you haven't voted, you can cast your vote in this page.

Meanwhile, I'm afraid you need to use the given installer. I can assist you through TeamViewer if you need it.

I am the same as Wolv3rin3 in that it doesn't start?? I solved the 'wrong'  directory issue where it couldn't find ReliCOH.exe

Hi.I'm new in Steam and EF mod.I need help.
You said the location to install EF to is:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Company of Heroes Relaunch\
i install steam but when i checked the folder i installed there was no "common" folder in "steamapps" folder .This maybe a dumb question but help me please.I really really really really really really really really want to play this awsome mod.

Check these step for me please (not done yet,these are just my "planning steps" )
1.I have installed COH:TOV and put it in steam
2.Patched COH:TOV to vers 2602
3.Installed EF 1800 into the COH:TOV i just put it in steam
4.When done,start the game from EF launcher in steam folder
5.Log in and play.

Please show me if i missed any part you know.Thanks in advance!

1. Put your ToV key on Steam
2. Download "Company of Heroes (New Version)" from Steam
3. Install EF 1.800 into ^ folder (Folder is called "Company of Heroes (Relaunched)"
4. Correct, but it's in Relaunched Folder, not Steam folder. You should get a desktop shortcut you can use instead.
5. Just play, no need to login.

I tried to download company of heroes through steam but:
Where can i get a free product key to install COH:TOV through steam ? I tried my serial cd key but i didn work and when i checked the manual for the key,it said "product key located on the back of the manual" but nothing on the back.I go to some website and it said the product key for steam cost money
I don't have any money now.  :-\ :-\ :-\
What do i have to do now?I love EF mod  :'( :'( :'( :'(

You just need to go to your steam library, click "add game", then click "activate product key" and then type in your tales of valor/opposing fronts/company of heroes key. Then it should automatically add "CoH : new steam version" to your steam accound and start downloading.

I tried my Company of Heroes:Tale Of Valor key 3333-4444-1111-2222-ce13 but it didn work  :'(

This is a pirate key ... what do you expected  ;D

from what i read from your key, you are using a cracked retail game, that explain everything.

You should wait until CoH:ToV gets cheaper and purchase it, otherwise you should play EF 1.720 with your cracked version because the patch 1.800 only made compatible EF with the new Steam CoH... however, Ostheer will be only playable on the Relaunched version on Steam.

I am new to the forum but have been a fanatical fan of EF for quite some time.  However, I cannot get EF to run after switching over to steam.  I know this is a familiar topic and I have read a number of posts on how to "fix" the problem without positive results.  I have an Alienware aurora running windows 7 with dual nvidia video cards.  I have the new COH steam version in my steam library and have downloaded the EF 1.800 mod.  When I try to launch EF, windows cannot find the EF files. 

Can anyone help?

Are you sure you installed EF in the new Steam path? Are you sure you installed EF in the root directory of the new CoH?

Could you post a screenshot of your new CoH directory so we can tell you what you did wrong?

Hello! Im new to the forum so please bear with me.
My issue is that I cant play EF online through steam. Its patched and Ive got all three COH versions in steam, including the new Steam one. My EF runs but not in logged in status. So how should I go from here?

Or is it possible that EF isnt capable to run online through steam?

If you are not playing the game "Company of Heroes (New Steam Version) from your library, then you are not playing the new Steam version and you are using the old one and getting offline because there is no more Quazal servers to bring you online. Or maybe you start Steam offline which makes EF to go offline.

You start it as usual, there is no way to play EF offline only unless you are offline either by lack of internet connection or due to steam is just not online or you are playing a different version rather than the new one...but you already discarded this last one so it should be something different.

I was starting it in the wrong version of the game, that one without Reloaded after it so.... now it works!!!!! ;)

My COH files are in the directory "program files (x86) and then in a subdirectory file entitled "THQ".  For some reason, I am having trouble taking a screenshot of the directory files.  Does this help?  The EF files are also located in the same folder as COH. Here is the location: C:\Program Files (x86)\THQ\Company of Heroes

Hello Foofighter689! You must install EF in the Steamapp map, and in the map with CoH Realoaded, if not it doesnt work.

Btw, if you are using a pirate version it won't work.

i have a problem with EF and steam, i try the method give on this page ( http://www.easternfront.org/forums/index.php?topic=5883.0 ) but i can t lauch the mod. A error messaje appear telling that his anable to find the lauch.exe.
I have the 3 CoH, buy by steam, working perfectly.
I realy want to try this mod so if someone can help me it would be grat,

You should be using the "Company of Heroes (New Steam Version)" and not these three as we posted in the last announcement :). Uninstall EF, uninstall the other CoH versions (unless you need them for some reason), install the new CoH and install EF in this new directory.

The only way we know to get a working key is to purchase it on steam.

Can I ask a small question?

I am thinking to buy the COH from steam, but I only see the original COH and the other 2 expansions, which priced 9.99 and 19.99.

1. If I am using the COH, I will still able to play this mod? Seems that the original COH does not include British and PE.
2. In the steam store, I see that there is only one COH and is it the COH (new steam/ 2013) as mentioned?
3. Is there a way to play it offline? Connecting to steam is sometimes a problem for slow connections in my country.

As far as I know once you swap from online to offline in the Steam menu you can play offline until you decide to go online again, however, you would need to be online to download coh and play it at least once before going to offline mode I suppose.

What do you mean with the question number 2? It contradicts what you said above :-\.

Btw, there is already a guide that can help you to know what are you going to get depending of your version.

For number 2, I am wondering is the COH I found in this link:

is the COH 2013 or the old COH, as it is not able to identify that.

I don't know the guide and it seems that it requires to online first. (and seems that I cannot open the link, maybe Java problem?)

There is no CoH 2013 at sale, that is given automatically when you purchase one of the old games, which means that one from the link is the first CoH game.

Oh, so I think it is correct when I am getting COH TOV from Steam, hopefully I no need to download them 2 times on that. If I get my steam offline can I play the game without internet/ LAN?

The proper step to step guide is on the first post. What error do you get?

After a long, work related break from trying to get EF to install properly, I'm back and still can't get the program to load correctly.  Blackbishop, is it possible to give me a step by step "guide" on how to install?  I have read and followed the guide posted at the beginning of this thread, have purchased and installed all COH games on Steam. My problem seems to focus around having the EF program in the wrong directory and the fact that I am not a particularly savvy techperson.  I hate to ask but I am considering throwing in the towel.

You only need "Company of Heroes - New steam version" to play Eastern front. The other versions are redundant.

I do have that but what directory should it be in?  I believe my problem is that I have downloaded eastern front to the wrong directory or folder.
