Other CoH mods usually don't contain thousands of extra sound files either :P

I think maps may come packed seperately... so that saves on some d/l space.

I dont think maps generally take up much space. Though this is based on playing mod maps online on a game called Crysis, and they take 1 min to download roughly. And im on a average internet speed. Might be COH maps are bigger though, but Crysis is seriously detailed so i dont know.

Cry, cry, a normal game is developed in more than 2 years with professional employees. I think 2 years is acceptable. And uninstalling your game is your own fault.

Simple solution. Make your own mod? Lets see how long that takes you? And as some-one above said, 2 years for a game is reasonable if your being PAID FULL TIME to produce it. That usually consists of a team of a hundred people or more to make a game. Its alright if they are working on it everyday of every week, but the guys who made this mod do it in their spare time. Be grateful you have a mod to play on when its released in a few days time.

How could I ,or anyone, be angry with the developers at this point.  Their product is awesome, their release date is definite and the community is generally friendly.  I am only mad at the Marine corps for shipping me out two days before the release.  Not your fault, but theirs.

Eastern Front will ship with an auto-installer. If you managed to install Company of Heroes, then this will be easy.

I was wondering about the distribution on the internet of the mod..will it be hosted on certain websites? Cos i was thinking, why not put it on a torrent file, so it will be much faster to be downloaded...what do you think about it?

Cos if you think about it, the only thing you should have to do if you decide to distribute it via torrent, is simply host the torrent file(which is actually no more than 200kbyte) and keep your pc with utorrent, vuze, bittorrent etc.. opened and that's it! easy and helpfull. Also if you decide to host it(the torrent i mean) on certain websites like thepiratebay, ok i know tpb = piracy but in this case it's not piracy because the mod is for free, so free to be distributed. An other point is if you go for thepiratebay you would surely increase download hits so: file faster to be downloaded, no costs, and you dont have to stay on seeding life long, but the most important thing is ->visibility = many downloads = the mod will survive.

ps: i mentioned thepiratebay cos it's the biggest but it can be any website..

Thanks again for all the effort put into this mod :D

I do have what might seem like a pedantic question, lol... but my friends and I were wondering what time (and in what time zone that time is) the mod will be released?

Us Australian fans can be up to 12hours infront of our American/European buddies and we are planning on having a massive Eastern Fronts lan!

I hope everyone feels for the fact that while you will get EF on your 21st, it'll likely be very early morning on the 22nd for us Aussies! hehe

I don't think we are going to say the exact time for a number of reasons:

1. We might miss it and look silly

2. Thousands of people will be sat waiting for it, and as soon as it appears on the site - bam! Server explodes.

Actual work on the mod finished yesterday. We now have a finished product, but are packaging it up ready for release and sending it to press publications worldwide.
