Eastern Front Release Date

ATTENTION!!! Everybody listen up.

The moment we have all waited for so long is now drawing close.

Company of Heroes: Eastern Front is going to be released on January 21st, 2010.

Vote for CoH:EF now to get us in the first round of the top 100 of the ModDB MOTY Awards,
closing January 5th. CoH:EF will have been released before the finals, closing February 21st.

  Well, seeing as we've all demonstrated we could wait awhile,
we would all been fine if you held it up, developped Ostheer
and balanced it well against Soviets and other factions. We're
fine waiting till 2015 if needed for a complete, balanced
product with proper models and a dazzling long campaign
with CGI animations! ;)

I am certain I speak for every fan here :)
- Don't be pressured into releasing it until it's complete,
and PERFECT! :)

Damnit, I am very excited for everyone else that the mod is going to be out on a definite date ( because I'm a nice guy.) but it is too bad that the date given is two days after I leave for basic training followed by MCT and up to a year and a half of MOS school.  Loup, who joke about not playing until 2015, may not be too far off for me. Oh well, I saw this coming I have no one to blame but Chesty Puller.

Actually Loupblanc, you don't speak for everyone and you certainly don't speak for me.

I think it's the right time to bring it out. Even if it's just the Russian faction. That's what we've all been waiting for anyway, we already have two German factions it's not a big a priority.

Company of Horoes is slowly becoming an old game, and there will be other RTS's that come out. Now is the time to bring something playable to the table before it's too late. They have worked hard for a very longtime and if they release it now we can all be part of the balancing and development process.

How do you put a Mod into your game? I've never put one on my game, I tried but it failed.

This will come with an installer when its released.

Since the release date of Company of Heroes I was searching for Red Army mods and I gave up.. before 1 or 2 weeks I've installed CoH and searched again and found this and I'm really happy for it but I got few questions

1)How it will affect the multiplayer?(I mean will we be able to still play with the basic units (with no mod))
2)Is there a new sounds for german and russian units?
3)Will it work for people who don't have Opposing Fronts or Tales of Valor?
4)Related to the first one - Is there any option to enable the mod or disable it (everytime we get into the game) ?

No, team has not seen fit to release and use patches up
till now. We shall NOT stand for patches! We want a COMPLETE
professionally finished product :)

Soviets + Ostheer, tested, final draft, balanced, perfect in
every way. + Campaign with CGI and hollywood actors for
voices :)

We shall not accept a release until them.

The Russian have their custom sounds yes, and for the Germans you will have to download lorankorn's sound mod. It has modified German and Allied sounds, nearly every one of them.

A Canadian military veteran as a sound technician for EF?

Oh-oh, you have found me... :)

I am retired as you can see. Having a great time on the sunny island of Gran Canaria, sipping ice cold drinks on my balcony overlooking the marina 8) .... and thinking about new sound ideas ( along with how in hell to make ends meet with a woefully small pension I get) .
So I am making sound mods for now. Killing time is a priority or I would be sipping too many ice cold drinks  ;)

Just a question, what size will the mod download be?

I think they've said around 450-500mb  :)
