I press the "play" button, but nothing happens.

Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
Company of Heroes (new steam version)

I have tried:
Setting CoH dir
Relaunching as admin

Issue:
When I press play, nothing happens, no error or nothing.

Show case of what happens in files (compressed to rar because of permissions of file types)

I have accidently set it to use original CoH files (not steam version), so I've tried the steam version - to no help.
I just get the steam message "launching coh steam version"

also i found that in my error log from another game dir.

Do this:

go to your steam library, click on Company of Heroes New Steam version, choose "properties"
In the next window, pick the tab "files" and then click "browse files".

Then look in the folder if there's an Eastern_Front folder inside. If not you didn't install it correctly.

If it's inside you can try starting manually.

Right click Company of Heroes new steam version, choose "properties"
Then select "starting options" and type in:

-dev -mod eastern_front

Then try to start the New Steam version and EF should lauch.

Just remember it might take up to a minute to fully load.

Heya Darc - I tried the 'workaround' that you mentioned above... Well, I does 'work', but not properly - You see, the OH and RU factions are older versions. OH still has the Maultier, famo isn't at the HQ (nor are any of the upgrades that are supposed to be through there now). Etc, etc...

The 'new' Mod launcher in steam still isn't working for me either - I'll click 'play', Steam'll say its booting up the 'new steam version' of the game, then another pop-up will say it's launching EF... Then nothing... at all...

So please tell me that this is something that will be fixed, and SOON!

If nothing happens at all means you probably installed EF in the wrong directory. It needs to be in the same drive CoH NSV is installed.

Definitely the same directory - I went and did the whole 'browse local files' to confirm it and everything!

There is only one install of the original CoH anywhere on my entire system, and that is the NSV (or 'Company of Heroes Relaunch' as the folder is named in my steamapps). And all the EF stuff is inside it. But whenever I press 'play' (or run the executable itself), nothing - Steam will have its little pop-up saying 'preparing to launch Company of Heroes: Eastern Front', and then it'll disappear and then nothing will happen... My steam status will go back to the blue 'online' mode and everything...

Using that work-around mention earlier in this thread, I can access the factions via the 'base' game executable - but they are out-of-date versions of the factions... ^^;

Anyway, lets just get it fixed soon eh? I've been practicing for the last month in anticipation of being able to play this properly again!

UPDATE: Scratch all that, the problem has been resolved... All I had to do was completely re-instal both CoH:NSV and EFMod! ... ^^;
