Eastern Front not working on Steam (update)

I'm sort of negotiating and investigating already, however it seems that their direction towards "balancing" vCoH is not the way I personally would balance vCoH. They are too occupied fixing stuff that is not broken (apart from sniper mechanics, which we'll feature within our next major EF release once relic gets the patch done). However, time will tell.

Their officer change (to make it a valid unit in a T1-T2-T4 strat), M10 fix and more wasn't dumb though. ;)

Just a heads up.

My steam just downloaded a new patch for CoH New Steam version and the change log says they fixed mod support:

Bug Fixes

- Fixed: Arranged Team Stats are always displaying the 1st (host) User of the Arranged team
- Fixed: Leaderboards repeat the same 46 players
- Fixed: Users can randomly be the British faction during Panzerkrieg and Assault games
- Fixed: Temporarily lagging player causes game to lag for seconds to minutes
- Fixed: Changing tabs becomes unresponsive when introducing lag + joining busy chat channels
- Fixed: Game List appears to be filtered when Filters are turned off
- Fixed: 3v3 and 4v4 matches not being played
- Fixed: modding does not work

Good news ! Hope it will fix the mod for real !

After it updated, it now plays for like 5 minutes then crashes.....ugh this is disappointing

Yeah, saw it on FB today. Relic specifically stated that it should fix Eastern Front.

It seems there is a bit of misunderstanding around this new patch and the effect it had on Eastern Front. Do not worry comrades, I'll explain it in layman terms:

Relic didn't fix EF, they "allowed" us to fix it.

So, that means they enabled once more to use our custom factions. But remember every time they update their mod, they break our Strawman fix(recrew) and we need to update it. This is not going to change unless Relic, Smoking Gun Interactive and we work together to release the patch, which it won't happen anytime soon it seems(and not because we don't want, you can be sure about it).

Good news regardless. I'm glad it got sorted out (somewhat). :)

I'm not sure how important this is going to be to those working on the latest patch version, but:

- The game actually crashes in LESS than 5min, but it seems to do so after the same amount of time has passed in every game.
- This effects all games, regardless of factions present in-game, including games with 'vanilla' (base and OF) factions ONLY (So not just the new EF added ones). This has been tested through multiple skirmish games, but I expect the campaign missions would be effected as well.

Look forward to seeing the results of the patch once you guys have it ready. I remember there was new building supposedly ready (or very nearly so) for implementation. Any more news with stuff like that?

I guess there will be few separated patches in the time, but its not up to me to tell for sure :)

My guess  is that the crash fix patch will be released alone or combined with some visual stuff that you mentioned.
And some time later the balance patch will be released. 

New CoH Patch has been released! And i read about "- Fixed: modding does not work" in the patch notes!!! This might be the great chance for eastern front!

Far as I can tell, the last CoH patch (just happened a few days ago) fixed *this* mod.

Nonetheless, you can disable auto updates by right clicking the game on the left side of the screen, Properties, Updates, and change "Always keep this game up to date" to "Do not automatically update this game."

The mod is fixed but the crashing issue happens (after a minute or two the game crashes). Hopefully there is a patch for this soon :>

SollingDown really? That was not nice of you at all, this guys have made one of the best EF mods (if not the best) asking nothing in return and have often been slowed by official patches that disrupted their work and you dare use such tone? Seriously, I have no words...

Soon hopefully? Whenever Cope gets some free time. It'll certainly be getting fixed, we have new things that need added pronto.

Keep in mind; we arent a company  ;)

Might want to talk to the Battle of the Bulge mod team.  Not sure why but that mod is still running on steam and so far stable.  Not sure if it has to do with the factions it uses for the mod or not.  I tried Modern Combat and that is not running at all. 

Modern Combat, Blitzkrieg, The Great War and all the other mods that are not like Eastern Front are going to work because they don't need to do anything at all after each patch, unlike us. So far, the only mods screwed after each new patch are Normandy 44 and Eastern Front.

If MC doesn't work, perhaps they tweaked something else, however, it is not close to what we have done so, no one can help us.

Correction: Normandy 1944 works! use the latest patch.  Eastern Front though, will there be a patch? not in the last few months so no.  Nothing to see here move along back to another mod.

You should inform yourself better, otherwise you end like a fool. Nope, Normandy 44 and Eastern Front work the same right now, because both use the same custom DLL. So both crashes. If you played that mod you would have know this.
