unable to get a game started with my friend

we both have the current game and we can play with AI's by our self but when we'd join a game together and once the map loads the game ends and says error sync and will send us back to main menu

Your mod versions are not the same.
One of you is still on 1.7.0.1. Both of you must update the mod to [IP address redacted] version.
