How does Torrenting work? uTorrent

I want to know how torrenting things work. I here people do it all the time and my friends do it, but i'm more safe about my computer and don't want viruses. Because i want LOTR battle for middle earth 2 for PC without paying 60 or more for it because its expensive. So if you could just tell me all about it it would be nice THANKS  ;D

Well i know that you don't or may not condone pirating but i felt like someone on the forums has to know about it in someway helpful haha

You may ask for help concerning torrenting, however not related to piracy.

Well then forget it i didn't want a game  ::) But how does torrenting work  :P

You basicly download a file let's take EF_Setup1.7, meanwhile you also upload some of the parts (mostly just kbs) of it. People think it's faster but it isn't. Simple but true. That's why it's called "filesharing".

If you do that with cracked software/music then you can get into serious trouble (especially in Germany) as you are also kinda "hosting" cracked software and music (even though these are just kbs). As long as you download legal stuff f.e. our Launcher & patches it should be fine.

My brother recently got caught at filesharing. He downloaded some shit from a fake torrent side that sold his IP to the lawyer's office of a big music company. So if you ask me I'll rather stick to downloading from filehosters.
