Wintermap Conversion Converstion!

So, in light of Maxi's recent conversion of the popular "Langres" into a winter map, I have decided to contribute with a conversion of my own! However, back in the past I made several map conversions, either converting 2 players maps into 4 players, or campaign maps into skirmishes, and I wanted to see which of these people would like to see, winterised and ready for the eastern front!

So please feel free to post your vote, or drop a message giving any suggestions! Once my current projects are out of the way, I'll begin production!

Arnhem and Oosterbeck, what are their multiplayer names?
And How a map like Sturzdorf can be 4v4  :o

They are not multi maps, I guess he will convert them somehow from campaigns. And more, 4 means 2v2 map not 4v4, then it should say Hochwald ( 8 ). ;)

2v2 Sturz would be interesting but I would like to see Rails & Metal under snow actually.

Both Oosterbeck and Arnhem originally singleplayer maps, taken from the Operation: Market Garden campaign.

And Sturzdorf was a surprisingly simple map to convert, as there is plenty of room for additional bases! It's a reasonably small map, compared to something like Lyon (4), but it works!

I figured that some of the popular maps would be requested, but that's something I'll cover later, perhaps after New Years. As for now, I'm only covering converted maps, to offer people something that they might not have seen before!

No problem, do as you wish, any addition will be awesome. Personally I would like to see those Campaign maps in multi, sure gonna be really interesting. God speed :)

So I should probably state that there is no point voting for Carpiquet Airport anymore! In a three hour flurry, I threw it together, so that map's already done!

However, keep voting! By December, I'll have plans to start the next one!

The conversion turned out to be fantastic, guys! Maybe Bacon will upload it for you!

While looking through the potential winners, I discovered something interesting...

strange, most of these maps i dont see in the mod, do you have to download them seperate?

Well from the looks you'll be forced to make all maps in winter :P.

Some Urban maps I suggest. Sturzdorf or Ruin of Roen maybe?

What I can't live with is everyone's dislike of Chambois!!

All of these maps are those from the American, Panzer Elite, and Commonwealth campaigns, converted for multipayer, and a few original 2 player maps, converted into 4 players.

You won't find these in the mod, believe me! However, once we have a winner, I will post a download link for them, so that you can add them to EF yourselves!

Sturz, evidently, is a pain in the arse to convert! I never noticed, but there are splats all over every inch of that map, all of which need to be changed! If it happens to win, it will take me longer than planned!

Well luckily for you guys, I had a day off today, so Sturzdorf is finished, regardless!

In fact, I just tested it, and it's fun!

Seriously, this map was made for four players!

I have also started work on Beaux Lowlands, which isn't listed on the poll. This will be amongst the maps that will be added to the conversion pack, regardless! So if you happened to want to see that map 4 player and winterised, lucky you! Personally it's one of my favourite, and most underrated maps!

Well with less than a day to go, it appears as though the 4 player conversion of Sturzdorf is going to be our winner!

If you really want to say anything else on that list, get voting, otherwise, keep an eye out on Maxi and Bacon's map pack, and the goodies will soon be delivered!

Man, 4p Sturzdorf is gonna be some hectic stuff, smaller than Wolfheze is it not? I'm not sure what the smallest 4p map is, but Wolfheze has to be up there.

I do agree with Burro. I voted Sturz as a safe choice cause I have no idea about the other maps but I don't wanna see another Wolfheze ( in this case Sturz) actually. So if you please give some general view of those maps (PvP converted versions - snow is not necessary ) then we can have better voting. Then add snow and other stuff later.

After seeing the preview images maybe I'll vote Arnheim or Osterbeck- I dunno. It's hard to choose like this.( and fuck Seine Docks)

Sturz is small for a 2v2 yes. Could lead to Wolfheze like gameplay, yet still cool I think IMO. Better than any Vire River or Sheldt ;)

No way on the Seine Docks. Too 1v1 x 3 ish, not very cooperative gameplay.

Oosterbeck is a cool map as well. Can I vote for almost all of them? :)

Well Duclair was 2ppl but was converted to 4. Works fine.

I have only added maps on this list that actually work well as a 4 player. These are conversions that I have finished and been playing on for at least a year already.

Berniere-sur-mer is tight, but that is what makes it interesting. One narrow side, with frantic fighting, and one open side, where the players will usually need help from their allies to cover all areas.

All of the campaign maps are frankly huge. As I'm sure that most of you have tried them, you will know that they are simply far too big to be 1v1 maps.

And as for Seine, I have changed it so that the teams now face each other diagonally across the map, rather than 1v1 1v1 1v1. Still, if I have the time, I will convert the vast majorty of these for you guys anyways!

Once the voting is over, I'll make a list on the map pack for which ones will be released!
Still, someone as crazy as I am can't just wait around for a poll before making maps... I've already done about 4 of the maps on this list, in preparation!

Speaking of campaign maps turning out too huge, there's still the possibility to stamp as it was done for 2p_best for example.
One option we may want to consider in the near future.

Personally I'd love to do an extension of this map, stamping it onto a larger canvas and making it 6 player. When you look at the out of bounds scenery, some of it is pretty detailed!

Congratulations to Sturzdorf. But, being a little crazy, I intend to give you far more than just that!
