Round 14

Here's the deal folks:

From now on, each Monday, players/teams may just begin to issue attack orders without the opening of this thread.

I start my new year of school today so I may not have time to update the board at the break of dawn up until around 3 PM my time which is late for the rest of the world.

Please excuse any major delays on locking threads. This work load is likely to keep me up at all hours of the night.

Questioning why I selected such crappy classes  >:(

Re: Round 14

try getting all of your attacks posted by the end of today. I want to know exactly how many times and where we are getting attacked to give out defense orders. It's important since we will probably only be capable to react to 2/3 or less of the attacks at the state we're in so we need to pick our battles. Ill get working after class. should be out in like 7 hours
I think your the Commander the axis team needs, but not the one it deserves. So we'll welcome you. Because you can lead. Because your not a just Commander.

Well Simuz, Keule, Wood and E-gon won't be able to respond to any of our attacks. So you should plan accordingly for that.
If you get into an argument with me, you're wrong.

Re: Round 14

ok this is a disaster then. That is for the most part the whole of the eastern front. We wont beable to respond to jack. I dont even know why I am keeping at this anymore if that's going on

Re: Round 14

Well due to the way the defenses work they are too far into OUR territory to defend your own. Next time the tourney is played, I think we need a rule to say that you can't continue attacking if you are cut off from your capitals (an unbroken line between any capital and your position) except to relieve this situation, like check in chess. This wouldn't help Simuz and Keule but would help E-gon and Wood in our case because we would be forced to turn around to make a supply line again.
If you get into an argument with me, you're wrong.

Re: Round 14

i already talked with crani about some of the new rules for the 2nd community event
i think like in the current situation where players are in a pocket they can attack but only in the direction of the motherland/vatherland to simulate an breakthrough

btw what is the rule when glimz and me would win on berlin border? next round will be played on berlin itself right?

Re: Round 14

If agreeable to the allies, I may instate a rule saying you need a clear line of supply to attack forward.

This would nullify the Berlin attack if agreed to both sides

Re: Round 14

You are the admin. Its your tourney. Don't keep asking ppl. I'll put it like this. If you want this tournament to last any longer, instate the rule. If not, GG. We literally cannot fight under these conditions. The longer you wait, the less time we have to plan if u do choose to enforce the new rule. Most of the Axis team is ready to call it quits anywho. We're just playing games for fun now. We have 12 ppl left. Not a lot.

Re: Round 14

its exactly like shark says, you're the admin grow a pair and become decisive. The main problem with some of the things that plagued this tourney were the times you had to ask everyone whats up and what they thought. It's great to ask everyone's opinion and I support it at times but for some other things we need quick decisions without all the whining and the bitching which just adds confusion to everyone new and the ones who were already here.

Just pick something,
A. Make the tourney end, everyone in the axis team is pretty fed up so we'll agree, or
B. Include a rule that breaks this cheesiness in the rules which will not only prolong the tourney but also be somewhat of an unfair addition all of a sudden considering the circumstances.

You need a clearer set of rules and not amend them so suddenly during the thing itself, especially at a time like this where it's GG or "sorry people, we need to go for longer".

I'll just let you know we don't have anymore in us in the Axis team. We don't have the players to continue this anyways. The only way this can become fair again is if we get some of the allied team but lets just save it for next time if there ever is a next time.

Re: Round 14

If you are doing something unique for the 1st time you cant do it perfect, you will be actually very far from perfect.
I think that you all will agree with me.

But this tournament wasn't bad. In fact it was really interesting and I will support a 2nd one.
Also I will offer my help to get it running.

And if we are going to close this tournament... I just want to say thank you Cranial and MaxiKing about giving your free time to this really nice idea for unique tournament and made it so exciting for me :)

And a special thanks to Dennis who inspire me to play again this mod and helps me alot with trainings.

Re: Round 14

So if we were cutted-off from last round, can we repair the supply line then attack other sectors from the cutted-off in same turn?

Re: Round 14

he hasn't made a rule for it so the way it sounds the whole turn would be you repair the supply line and nothing else. no pushing forward. But I say just let it be and GG. The axis are exhausted and no longer capable of fighting back when you people outnumber us 2 to 1

Re: Round 14

I believe this tourney was very successful despite the flak on both sides. It brought us together we met new people made new friends all in all thats what matters. But because this was a "Alpha" build so to speak of a map style campaign tournament, all the participants that remained in the tourny should be awarded early access to the ostheer whenever that may come in the near future.

I will support a future community event like this but we should definitely play test the map rules a bit more instead of during and changing rules during cause that really confuses players you know.

Re: Round 14

My suggestion is keep this tournament in a "testing mode" a smaller-scale tournament, people who can't or don't want to participate can leave. It's not about winning or losing anymore. It's pretty fun to have some CoH matches with friends on the weekend and achieve or lost some territories.

By the way, it's a good idea that the tourney's players have some unique medals in their signature space.

Re: Round 14

WE WANT MAPS!! I want to know why there are attack orders on both of our capitals, I want to see evidence. I just don't want to see people posting random unauthentic attack orders.

Re: Round 14

What? Both of your capitals are in range of our forces through conditional attacks. We are only 2 territories away in both cases. However we can only take half of them because we don't have enough people this round to attack both portions of each capital. You mean this map right? http://img836.imageshack.us/img836/2981/round13a.jpg

The supply rule should be that you can't attack onwards if you don't have an unbroken line of friendly territory back to your capital. In a round you are cut off, you can make attack orders as you normally would but these become conditional, and may only succeed if territories are regained to allow you to supply again.

Re: Round 14

No problemo.

I say you guys let us win this one and we start another when the 1.7 patch rolls out. Axis don't have enough players to hold on anyway and having our supplies cut off would just be delaying the inevitable. At most, it would only be 6 weeks or so until we won regardless. The best option Axis can hope for is to be taken by the Western Powers rather than the Russians. With a new patch/tourney, we can have better balance and better/clearer rules.

On the whole, this tourney ran pretty smoothly. Rule changes during it were necessary and I think it just serves to make the next tourney better by trying out new rules here first.

this. QFT. EXCEPT we should play the final territory for fun. like Berlin. allies win even if they lose. just play for fun. all in all, great tourney, MANY thanks to cranial, and i think we all learned a lot. this knowledge will help us improve the next one which i sincerely hope will come, although possibly not as long and drawn out.

Ok, I gave the last defense orders out right now, most of the east regions have no one assigned and 1 west doesnt. So if you get a reply on your attack order then you're one of the lucky ones. It's pretty much GG anyways now.

Re: Round 14

I agree with Klein and Dreamer, the tourney was an enjoyable experience for me, I made lots of friends, and I think everyone owes Crainial and Maxiking some respect for putting this thing together with almost no help. On top of that, I salute Crainial for keeping cool while under all of this stress and chaos, no matter what, I think most of us can agree that he's trying his very best to make neutral decisions for/against both teams and moderate the tourney as best he can. As I told Crainial, I support a second tourney and am willing to help in any way I can, if he does decide to start another one.

Re: Round 14

Thanks for support guys, I really appreciate it. I've seen some mistakes during these weeks and now am working on improving for a new tourney sometime in the future.

However, the biggest flaw was a lack of designated staff. Special thanks to Maxi with artwork and mapping and Dennis for rule consult in the beginning and Drokslit for working with me closely recently to try and get the axis team back in shape, but there's only one "full time" guy doing forum work and stuff, and its really a lot to chew for me. Now that classes start its even worse.

When the new tourney is in the works (brainstorming already!) I will be recruiting staff for assistance. I really was lookin forward to video production for this tourney but again, way too much for 1-2 guys. At least I got one out there.

Though the tourney isn't over just yet (I predict 3 more rounds) I would like to sincerely thank everyone for participating. I know that the rules might not have always been updated fully and I could have done a better job as a whole but I will consider this a test run as a tourney.

New Decree issued:

If the Axis have truely accepted defeat for this tourney, then they may deploy any player to any match that they desire no matter where they are located.

We can still play the matches, but no territory will be counted. A new even will be done next week to finish this thing with a bang.

Great tournament guys. Special thanks to EF devs and Tourney organizers for all this. Even tho Im a minority, I enjoyed the tournament since I first joined. I wasn't actually hoping to be able to enter the tourney at first, but it was the prize (I drooled of) that kept me going and it has been a pleasure to be apart of this. I look forward to joining events by EF in the future, getting to know more of the community and being a part of it.
Thanks very much to the EF mod community.

Re: Round 14

ISn't it kind of strange how  a lot of ppl are not showing up to their game at the last round? I mean I know u won but come on, show some sportsmanship. And technically, with the lack of games being played right now, I dont think Allies would actually win right now with all of the forfeits. I mean those who have RL issues I can sympathize with but for everyone else wth happened? Did we give up? Did we see the rest of the Axis team making a last stand and deciding not to follow up on it?
