[1.6] Tanks of USSR

Friends as you think about the amount of bonuses to the Soviet tanks (for example: accuracy), at reception 85мм guns or other upgrade for all or separate tanks. :)

Re: Tanks of USSR

What? What do you mean? You mean to make more upgrades for soviets tank which upgrade theirs stats (accuracy, rate of fire).

Don't you think that SU tanks are already good? Anyway i think that this is not good idea.

Re: Tanks of USSR

Mmm... I suggest to hardly  tanks.
Bad tank(unaccuratly)+arsenal(example 85 mm)=normal tank.

The soviet tanks are quite accurate already, they reliably hit infantry and tanks while they stand still. IS-2 got the same battle performance as Panthers. 2 can seriously wound a King Tiger in a front-to-front fight and the T34/85 is also a beast. It is spammable and got a very powerful gun. The T34/76 is weaker, but also quite cheap compared to Cromwells and Shermans.
ISU and IS-3 are also very strong tanks and are on even levels with Tigers.

Also Soviets get plenty artillery to clear Paks and 88s.

Well said, I don't think soviet tanks need upgrades for accuracy.

Re: Tanks of USSR

IMO the soviets tanks are sadly to powerful. They have litteraly no weakness. Great speed, great armour, great accuracy. Not like the germans heavy and slow but good for fights nor the Americans light and fast but weaker in combat. And the british got.. Great armour but weak guns? XD And this is said in pure gameplay value. Screw history! XD

Moving accuracy for soviet tanks is not very good.

Re: Tanks of USSR

And of course the IS-2 is stronger than the panther, its rival :P. And like previosly said, the T-34 is more spammable. And if you dont like that there is the KV series which practically DEFLECTS all StuG shots :P

Actually, KV-1 vs P4 is pretty even.
If you get into an argument with me, you're wrong.

Re: Tanks of USSR

agreed. soviet tanks are Good as is. su-100 is accurate enough to go against infantry for petes sake.

Re: Tanks of USSR

SU tanks don't need any more buffs. Their primary disadvantage is the time it takes to get them, and cost in the case of heavier ones. This was historically true. The T-34 was only available in small numbers when the Germans invaded the SU, and production didn't kick off until later. The T-34 was an incredible tank nonetheless. It is largely considered to the best tank of WWII due to its speed, armor, armament, and ease/cost of production. In fact, the Panther was designed SPECIFICALLY to counter the T-34.

The T-34 was a phenomenal tank, and EF shows that pretty well. The Germans had good tanks, yes, but the SU had better ones.

Well I wouldn't quite say that. Axis factions have on par basically with the German armor. SU tanks also don't have quite good moving accuracy (1 T34 doesn't do so well on the move even if it's speedy as hell)

@Trooper425,  just a questioning about history, i thought that the T-34 was the so-called "tank that won the war." why do you say there went many of them?

I think he's accounting for the fact that the Soviets had quite a bit of shock from the axis concerning vehicle count but when the T34s hit the field the current axis equipment became outdated, thus was spammed  ;D

Re: Tanks of USSR

You are right, the Soviet tanks are very strong, therefore I wanted to suggest them to make more poorly and through improvements to finish to level, which at them now.
#110583

Re: Tanks of USSR

We already did that in some way - the teching costs.
To unlock stronger tanks you need to invest a lot of fuel and manpower. To get a t34-85 you first need the Tank Hall, the heavy tankovy upgrade, the 85mm barrel upgrade in the armoury and then the tank itself.
Same with IS-2, they need every upgrade from the Soviet Support Barracks and from the Tank Hall before you can build one.

Re: Tanks of USSR

On the other hand, the t-34 76 is probably the best flanking tank in the game, low pop cost, high speed, and it can take a pounding.

I think a vet 3 IS3 might stand somewhat of a chance against a king tiger, but good luck getting to vet3 in a game against other people

IMO depending on the support the IS-3 might win. Just an opinion :P

AT mines Immobilize the big cat and Krak grenades do additional damage. However someone would have to be pretty stupid to Immobilize their KT.

King Tiger isn't immobilized by an AT mine from the Tank Hunters. The more reliable answer is ATGs.

Throw Elite frontal crits on the KT so we can give it the Damaged Engine crit at yellow HP with frontal ATG shots  ;D.

Re: Tanks of USSR

I actually am curious about the maneuverability of T-34s...
Is it just me, or T-34s turn a bit too well for a tank? Sometimes I think it even drifts  ;D
With a T-34, sometimes I find that the best way to deal with a clump of soldiers is to simply crash into them.
With a Stug, Panzer IV (Wehr and PE), Sherman, Cromwell (without Flank speed), I don't think this is possible  ???
Since the soldiers usually quickly get away (despite occasional wrong movements),  while a T-34 is so fast that it can easily chase and make extremely tight turns to run them over.

Note I am not saying they are, I am wandering if they are.
I am the type who enjoy Single Player Campaigns more than Skirmish and Multiplayer.
So despite having bought the game for 2 years I have only played a few Skirmish games and all of them against CPU; maybe this isn't an issue against humans?
And I certainly don't know how a T-34 drives like  ;D, maybe this is why it is a successful tank?
#119585

Re: Tanks of USSR

You can run over infantry with the other tanks. Its just harder since the T-34 moves so fast.

Re: Tanks of USSR

That is what I mean  ;D
Most basic tanks of other factions can't keep up with infantry movements, only T-34 can. I think T-34 moves quick like Light Vehicles lol
Is this really ok balance wise? Because I certainly don't want my infantry fighting T-34s  :'(

The T-34 has shitty movement accuracy, so even if he can keep up with infantry movement he wont hit them unless you micro it like a god. It's fine at the moment imo.

Its EASIER to crush with the T-34. The M10 is a lawnmower, but the T-34 might as well be a Craftsman lawn tractor.
