Snow Weather Option

I just saw Halftrack's BotB snow atmosphere add-on for Relic maps, and I was wondering if EF could do the same thing, considering the weather actually played such an important part on the Eastern Front.

I wanna see Ruskies in winter outfits too ;D. But the snow map thing is cool too :P. I think BotB has ALL snow maps IIRC (edited it and stuff :P)

I second this option, it seems like wouldn't be the biggest ass pain to implement (at least compared to some other things)

I seriously wouldn't mind even if winter became the ONLY atmosphere option, even for the Relic maps.  Snow is just epic and makes the battles seem even more brutal.  If you get hit by a bullet, your blood spays all over the white snow like fucking Kool-Aid, and you get to freeze to death while you bleed out and whimper like a little bitch.

I dont think it looks like this in game play :P. Especially not like Kool Aid on the side of the road ;D. Nor do some ppl pay attention to the blood (sometmes its cool to see the bodies lying around like a real battle scene though). But regardless I still would like winter maps.

But wouldnt that mean all the maps have to be winter, wheter you want it or not ???

But Kharkov and Leningrad do have snow don't they?

Leningrad only had snow until patch 1.2 xD.

I haven't played it since 1.0 :P

Anyway we are probably going to include the snow weather option.

Will it actually be snowing during the game or will there just be some snow on the ground ???

some models & textures are getting changed also the weather settings.

The snow from "Battle of the Bulge mod" is epic! Would be very cool to have a atmosphere option that said snowy (for snow maps only), wich you could select just like you select rain. I like the retextured trees with snow aswell those could be added also giving the snow maps a little more icy/snowy feeling.

YEA! they should be seperate from the vcoh stuff and only affect snow maps

But yeah, vanilla skins won't be touched, I even committed @Snug's request and rolledback the vanilla skin for the sherman ;D!

yauz, where the heck do you find/make your skinpacks anyways? you got a 2d artist up your sleeve or somthing?

Sometimes, I download and modify myself (which is why I can't release publicly), sometimes I work with others to create the perfect model, and sometimes for some infantry models I just make entirely myself.

Also, getting special models and things like the wounded Volks variation into normal CoH was done by myself.  Everyone said it wasn't possible, but it is, as long as you don't mess with the unit stats.

I basically have the same perfectionist attitude towards my skins/models/sounds that Snugz has towards his maps.

this reminds me of having the option in some games to turn on/off blood and gore, but i dont want a turn off i want a bigger turn on :3

As long as the snow doesn't obscure the battlefield :P

I'd get and use a Soviet Winter Skinpack.

And the Wehrmacht Grenadiers are kind of ready for winter, I guess.

Wintertextures from BotB will come with the Ostheer-patch. Here is a little preview.

Or is this unneccesary because the objects are replaced by their winter counterparts when the winter weather option is selected?

I wish it could work. But then almost all trees and bushes would need new textures.
