Do you guys (EF Community) honestly believe there will be a COH 2? Im not trying to be sarcastic, I just honestly want to know ???

if CoH2 is going to be like DoW2 this is going be more than failure. So far CoH gives me enough fun, so I don't care about CoH. Maybe new expansion would be better.

Looks like these threads appear from time to time XD... not that I have something against the topic ;D.

I think they changed some stuff from the orginal game. And all the factions you got for the exp packs. Well, they werent in DOW2 so it was like. Its suppost to be a sequel? All the good things from the first game and better! Not the old game but skip some parts and suckier XD

COH2 ? I dont know. I would love to see that. But a differant war. Just like bf1942 when it went to bf 2. ^^

Maybe if it went into Nam or Korea they would have a good plan for CoH II

Which brings up a point. If Relic ever proposed to buy all of the stuff that EF has done + made would you gus accept that deal? I mean why would they? You guys have already made + balanced the game :P. IMO you should say no b/c we will no longer have control of what we think is right. Also this forum will become obsolete and the community always get to voice their opinion about things (although we dont always get what we want :P) which they wont be able to do anymore

it could happen, but that articles source was way off. Unless by soon they meant 5 years from now

Devs use unofficial ways of modding or something like that, and basically they won't be able to do it for some reason.

Relic cannot buy what we have done because:

a) They have their own staff to create what they need.
b) Relic may like Eastern Front, but THQ doesn't share the feeling; they aren't interested in this mod and they are the ones that pay the bills.
c) You can say we are using unofficial ways of adding new models, because we don't have the official tools, meaning that our custom models have bugged scarring, no team color, etc.
d) The EF Team doesn't want to do this step either :P.

Honestly if COH2 is on the fucking Western Front again I'm not even going to bat an eyelash at it.  Same with the Pacific Front.  Western Allies are always overrated in the war, while Soviets did most of the fighting.  As for the Japanese, they sucked so much in land combat, its not even worth creating a game over it unless CoH2 includes Air and Sea.

I want COH2 maybe to be on the African front. Desert Rats vs DAK  8)

I dont think we do :P. I want COH to maybe branch off to other eras of combat (modern combat, pre modern tech combat like muskets)

However the Japnese showed a much more zealous side to combat through the use of self sacrifice and "fight to the end". Over all Americas troops killed more Japanses soldiers ratio wise by the end of the war"

I'm not some sort of racist douche hating on the Japanese, although I admit I do have some political thoughts that should be left unsaid.  I just said it from an objective point of view.  If you look at the statistics, the Japanese had far more casualties than the Americans in land engagements.  Its the same thing with the Chinese having far more casualties than the Japanese did in the Second Sino-Japanese War.  I didn't say their men were inferior fighters; those guys fought until they had no munitions left, and then still tried to poke the Americans with their bayonets.  Doing one of those banzai charges must have took some balls.

Their inferior capabilities in land combat were probably mostly attributed to vastly inferior weapons.  The Japanese still had WW1 style guns and tanks by the time American Thompsons and Shermans were being mass produced.  Also, their navy fucked up, so they were always under-supplied with their already shitty equipment.

That being said, their army really did suck so much that its not worth making a game based upon the land battles in the Pacific.  This is just the fact, as Snugz has already stated.  Nothing personal.

It was just the way you were sayin it. The japanese sucked so much and the western allies are so f**king overrated etc. I didnt disagree. Mostly of what you said I totally agree with actually!

With all this discussion of modern combat and new weapons and tactics, I feel like the mod Modern Combat will be kinda popular XD. Cant wait to play it

honestly the modern combat mod will show if the modern comabt works in coh or not

but even if it works its not coh any longer if its not in ww2 (just my oppinion)

If it's modern combat, I'll slit my wrists. Market is already saturated with this shit in First person shooters, we don't need it leaking like crap filled trousers onto the pristine bathroom floor tiles of strategy gaming. We have Generals 2 coming out next year, that should be enough.

We need something set in the 60's after a nuclear war. Not enough alternate history cold war games out there.

I would settle with Eastern Front WW2 as well though.

I think most games ar on the allies side b/c they were the only ones that kept winning :P. Operation Market Garden was a sucess, hence it was made the PE campaign. Im not sure there are any large scale battles or operations the Germans were sucessfull in(then again Im not as knowledgeable)

It was a sucess for the Germans b/c they managed to repel the Allies' airborne and armored forces :P. I was taking fro a German standpoint :P

So I'd probably be better to say OMG was ruined rather than sucessful for the Germans :P

Read about THQ's shares. Its a sad story.

Not really news. We got some vague confirmation that Relic was planning or was developing something related to CoH since CoHO was trashed last April. We were expected to have news at the end of August, but Relic kept quiet. All we want are the details.

I think they abandonded the project or switched it into something different. That maybe a reason why there were no news yet

They are probably building RAW Vs. Smackdown or something.

...or their Game Designer trolled the whole CoH world O.o

I think they tried to make a last ditch effort but got lazy. Maybe they'll restart it later  :P
