Bioware and a new EA studio are making this one, they're not using SAGE any more by the looks of things. (Fucking FINALLY! Nearly a decade later...)

I think they've learned from their mistakes... they acknowledged that RA3 wasn't good and that C&C4 was a catastrophic failure. The fact they're announcing this over year before it's destined for release (2013 it says in the trailer) makes me think they may actually be taking their time with this one. RA3 and C&C4 were both announced 8 months before they were released. C&C3 (a semi-decent game) was announced 11 months before it was released. I hope with ditching SAGE, this game will be graphically superior to all other C&C'S, although hoping for a graphical level on par with CoH may be stretching it (although I don't see WHY... I mean, seriously... CoH is for 2006 and amateurs can mod it to a freaking high quality...)

Considering the fact that it was in-game footage, it might give COH a run for its money though.

Hooray!!!! C+C 2! ;D ;D. I always liked C+C Zero Hour but felt like there could've been more :P. I just hope they retain some components and units from C+C 1(like carpet bombings and paladin tanks)

Please, EA cannot fuck it. RA 3 and C&C 4 were fail, especially C&C 4.

If they are enough clever, C&C Generals 2 should save C&C series.... or not.

What was wrong with C+C 4 and RA 3? I never played those games but I heard they were bad so I didnt buy it

RA3 was... okay I guess, but it didn't have much playability, it was a step down from RA2. It was heavily caricatured, RA2 at least tried to stay somewhat in the realm of realism and wasn't overly crazy, but RA3 just tried too much to be wacky, comedic and sexy... it was forced, where as RA2 was effortless. On top of that, the story was crap, the actors were unconvincing.

C&C4 was just a car crash. It tried to turn C&C into World in Conflict or something similar, it was a semi-RTS, RTT type game where you had to pick a class of commander to play and then you spent the rest of the game fighting over 'Control nodes' with Mobile bases. As IGN put it... EA tried to re-write C&C's formula instead of improving it.

Hopefully they improve it with Generals 2, and hopefully this isn't the last we hear from the franchise if this game turns out to be the dog knackers.

RA2 was one of the best RTS games ever. Only EA can f**k up something like that. Any game they lay their hand on, they destroy. Hope the same doesn't happen with BF3 though.

C&C is very loved, Westwood was very loved. It's a shame Petroglyph turned out to be kind of terrible... reminds me of the guy who created GTA, he went on to found Realtime Worlds which went defunct last year after creating a bunch of crap games (Crackdown, All Points Bulletin).

C&C is still good for me, i have CD of this game :). And in moddb.com is unofficial patch which makes this game better.

Generals is one of my favourite games. I remember this one game was a 2v2 with my friends. One of my friends on the enemy team is a little bit mental, so my teammate and I were discussing what crazy plan he was gonna come up with. Just as we were talking, the server lagged a little bit. We asked why it was and the enemy said "Oh, you'll see". The reason it lagged was because he had just issued the move order for HUNDREDS of the GLA suicide bikes. They swarmed our defenses and completely crushed my ally except for a lone dozer. I happened to have a chinook loaded with marines though and landed right in the middle of the bikes. The enemy guy isn't very good with micro stuff, so he pretty much ignored them. I think that little squad of marines killed probably 200 bikes LOL.

We ended up winning :D.

LOL suicide bikes. Those are fun to play with ;D. I used to put Jarmen Kell on a bike and have him zip around sniping lone soldiers and picking off tanks :P

Anyway, talk about Generals we will surely talk about mods...
Rise of the Reds is my first love to Soviet in game that in the end bring me to this epic mod...
Which kind of epic in its own way...
Sad that Frostbite isn't mod friendly, or even modable...

I like Shockwave, since it keeps the original flavour of the game but just improves on it. I hate silly mods like contra that give everyone super units.

I agree with you, i like this mod so much, cause it keeps "vanilla" fractions + improve generals. I am playing this with my friends, using tunngle program, something like hamachi but better i think.
