10th annual Mod of the Year

Hello Eastern Front fans,

Some days ago started the Mod of the Year 2011 event, also called MOTY 2011. It's time to cast your vote for Eastern Front :D! Thanks to you, the last year we ended at the 5th position, as we know we haven't released any big update, there's no chance we can get the first place, we don't deserve it... but let's achieve at least an honorific mention :D!

Don't forget to support other CoH projects, such like Modern Combat, ZombieMod, Pacific Thunder, The Great War, Afrika Korps, Back to Basics, Battle of the Bulge, Blitzkrieg, Normandy 44, Imperial Reign and NHCMod or any other project you like(e.g. Forgotten Hope 2 ;D), remember that you can vote once for any mod you want, it is not limited to one mod only.

We also apologize for the lack of news about Ostheer, but all the involved staff has been busy with their real life assignments, the balance team has not stopped their duties, and we are striving to finish all the pending stuff to release the patch as soon as possible. As the soviet balance is near to be finished, not talking about perfect balance... that's an utopy, but soviets are going to be as balanced as they can be on 1.6, so this is the last big patch for soviets and you should expect some nice surprises.

As the soviet arsenal and CoH factions' reward units are pretty much settled up(not talking about soviet reward units here), there's not many new units being included. But here are some pics of old friends wanting to say something:

Liking the new model, so their is a high chance of this mean machine returning to the field, beware the beast Soviets as it will be knocking on your door soon enough  ;D

And I have also spotted the Good ol Commissar armed with his trusty PPSH-41 ready to rid the motherland of the Nazi army.

And who is that guy seriously? Nazi officer armed with a Luger or something more.... I'm betting he's got a MG42 just behind that Tractor!

Can he fly? Can he swim? Or maybe he knows what to use this pistol? Who knows...

very nice update. Sounds like we gonna get some more eye candy in the next weeks.

Looking at the Commissar made me feel nostalgic. Hope he comes beck when Ostheer is released.

if this would be true that would also mean that tiger ace, sniper ace are imortal
and belive me they can die (sniper ace dies also with a single conter snip shot)

so its not an ace, will never become an ace and was never an ace

what we are learing? right^^ a unit dont need the name ace to be good or usefull

The actual display name a unit has, doesn't say much about how good the unit is. Especially not when refering to how they historically were.

Besides that, how many times must I say that the so called officer is just a random picture about someone who wants to ride his tractor?

i agree. its a T-70. as far as voting, http://www.moddb.com/mods/coheastern-front just scroll down to where it says "vote for this mod" and has a pixelated image of a town at night.

Take a look at the ModDB page. It says:

EF didn't win the players choice MOTY award, so that is still possible.

Voted. Felt sorry for the guy who couldn't start EF.

not yet, but it sure looks awsome!

For me the best are Eastern Front and Modern Combat mods, other mods looks also promising, like The Great War and Zombie mod.

I kinda like BK and BotB. Much fun

Cant wait till Zombie and Modern are done  :D.

But even more excited for Ostheer ;D
