We are back!

Hello Eastern Front fans,

Due to the recent forum issues, we were unable to restore the service soon, so we have updated the forum's SMF software(thanks to Will for this). In other words, we are back into circulation!

While the forum was down several weeks, Eastern Front balance was delayed just a bit, balancers and Devs were still in touch and we were working as fast as the situation let us. Unfortunately, the old layout is incompatible with the new version of the forum, so at the moment we will have the original layout as default.

Sorry for any inconvenience, we expect to release some news soon!

Thanks for the positive replies. For a development team like us, it is extremely apprieciated the crowd/customer is so excited about the Mod. It certainly gives us great motivation to keep working on it :).

Not sure. That's up to will. As far as I heard the former theme doesn't fit this type. I like this look, easier to access on my phone

Benefits of using the latest version of SMF ;D. The previous version of the forum was very old, that's why atm the old layout is incompatible with this new one :).

Is there anyone advancing Eastern Front that doesn't favor the Germans?  It seems that everything is for "Osteer".  What is that?  I apologize for being ignorant, but I really would like the Russians to be upgraded, instead of the enemys of America at the time.

Ostheer is a East German faction, designed to rival SU. Considering how the balancers have said that SU factioon is "pretty much finished on 1.6" their attention has shifted to Ostheer. Or at least thats what I believe :P

Righty o. The Soviet's do not truly require any new upgrades, balance yes, but too many new changes no.

The Ostheer was the stylistic name for the German Army of the Eastern Front, in real life a collection of units from the Waffen SS, Germany's allies ( Hungary, Romania, Italy, Croatia, Slovakia, and various volunteer units such as the Spanish Blue Brigade and French Anti-Communist League volunteer battalions (whose name escapes me at the moment) and the German Land Army the Wehrmacht (the main component of the army). The Ostheer is the official enemy of the Soviet army, thus gets much of the Dev teams attention.

They may be the enemies of America, but they are here for an enjoyable game, so sorry to disappoint you sir, but the Soviets are quite fine as things stand, and very few things will truly be changed with them, other than minute details and balance.

By the way thank you for serving America even if it was the worst war we have ever entered and exited, we shouldn't have engaged in such a worthless war, let alone have it headed by people who understood little about changing tactics and how to deal with Guerrilla Warfare ( which interestingly enough we have never truly been able to deal with efficiently going back to the Seminole Wars of the 1820s) 

The dev team has been exclusively working on Ostheer for a long time now.

The balance team has been working on Soviets and the reward units. Robotnik has been working on helping the balance team with coding, tuning the AI and adding new game modes. Celestial has been helping the balance team fine tune some of the Soviet abilities. BB implements the majority of our changes and is our biggest helper :D. Soviets will be pretty much complete in 1.6. We will do a couple balance changes in future if we need to but we will focus on testing OH once we finish 1.6.

@neosdark, wow. way to input your political bias. couldn't have just left it at "thank you for serving America" anyways, 

@rberliew, you may be right. I do not,but  a lot of people do prefer the german faction. one fact is, that there are a lot of people in this forum who dont live in america. therefore, they don't have the same sense of patriotism as we do. as for upgrading the soviets, i think most people agree that they are pretty much balanced as it is.

Thank you for serving. I know a few vets.

There are updates made to the soviets in nearly every patch and balancing soviets will be near final, if not final, in 1.6 to clear way for other updates to other matters, including reward units for vcoh factions and Ostheer.

Can we expect 1.6 by christmas ;D?

Truthfully Fish I think that would be the best time for 1.6 to be released, since many countries will be on break and people will have time to play.
