Funny... i've been predicting this since June. Even last week, when R* were hyping everybody up for GTAIII 10th Anniversary edition and a Claude action figure I was saying to people 'Give it till the end of the year, or even to the end of this month... they'll Announced GTAV when people are at their most attentive'

I still play GTA III On my PS2 from time to time. Not because I beat the game and I want to play it again but I go on rampages and see how long I last in a 1 V all scenario.

Sometimes I just fight against the cops, others I grab a tank and go on rampages, even another scenario I activate a bunch of cheats where it gives civilians WMDs, makes them hate each other, and myself, and I try to survive as grandmas with flamethrowers try to tackle EMTs with missile launchers and dodging bullets from the prostitute with the M4.

(PS my usual stand off point is the hospital on the first island :D)

GTA 2 was the best imho, for me, it turned meh when they moved to a third person perspective.

I loved GTA2, my second favourite after Vice City. The music of GTA2 gives me nostalgia overload...

Well, Los Santos :P The entirety of San Andreas would need like... 12 DVD's.

What I gathered from the video...

1. Voice over sounds Italian American, say's he 'Moved there for the weather', so most likely from Liberty City. This generation's Tommy Vercetti?
2. It's present day, the Economy seems to play some role in story with all the homeless, hoovervilles and the guy hammering in the foreclosure sign
3. The map seems to be huge, but not all of San Andreas, just Los Santos and some surrounding countryside (smaller outlying towns too perhaps)
4. Gun's with silencers suggest you may be able to customise your weapons at long last.
5. There's a military Jet near the end, so the Army may be back in town incase you get too 'excited'? This may also mean the return of other military vehicles such as... tanks!

Yeah, you're right. When I wrote that sentence, I was 10 seconds into the video but couldn't prevent myself from posting because of awesomeness..

Yep, I also noted that. Maybe, houses which you can buy during the game (if it works like in San Andreas), are equipped with that foreclosure signs.

What I noted, when I watched the video:

6. Cabrios are, if these are ingame scenes, convertible, you can close/open the roof, whenever you want.

7. There are some very beautiful oil pumps and air wheels around Los Santos

8. Known places, such as Verdant Bluffs, the Vinewood sign, the highest house of San Andreas and Santa Maria Beach also seem to reappear in GTA V

9. Little Seoul and Los Puerta - probably two new quarters which means the town area may have increased.

Watched the trailer about 50 times and totally missed the DOG on the fucking beach in the beginning. I wonder if that's cut scene material, or if we are finally going to have Animals in a GTA game... besides Pigeons, Seagulls and atmospheric fish.

Also... would this mean Police Dogs/Guard Dogs for the first time in GTA? ;D

15. Learjet at the end of the vid. Seems to be a lot of planes in this game... it wouldn't surprise me if you can fly them like in San Andreas.

Seems like R* have went balls-out with this game... ;D

Suspected map, reminds me a lot of San Andreas.

Looks like they only made one big town this time but a lot of rural areas and mount chillad is there too!

Correct walki, that was announced! Only Los Santos as big town but a much bigger countryside. I wonder what there is on that island..

I spy an airstrip on the Island.

Hopefully there will be some guys who make a Multiplayer (similar to SAMP) for this GTA.

Never played it though, don't know why.

The GTA IV multiplayer sucks... you can't programm own gamemodes for it like in SAMP (pawn).

Looks sweet! Loved San Andreas! Lets just hope there wont be any character change. Would ruin it. I wanna stick with one guy during the entire game <3

There are three characters actually (you see them on the video preview pic, from left to right):

Trevor, an aggressive redneck
Franklin (nothing specific known yet)
Michael, a retired family father (the guy speaking in the first trailer)

Except for missions, you are able to switch characters at any time.

I have to admit the trailer convinced me that GTA V will be a very awesome game unlike CoH 2, nah... forget CoH 2 really. This GTA is gonna be awesome, not only the graphic, but the plot's gonna be awesome too. I can feel it!

I don't think you're forced to change characters during missions, if you are they there's a design flaw somewhere since the AI should be programmed to 'snipe the bad guys' or 'fly the chopper' or 'escape the cops' too otherwise playing certain characters in certain missions would be totally broken. You might need to change characters in order to play certain missions and progress through the story, but I think that's it. I know that some missions are unlocked by reaching a certain amount of money which you'll then presumably spend on previsions for heists and crap.
