Ppl even playing EF?

Hey, I know this might be a newb question, been playing COH for a while and recently found this new mob EF, btw dont even know what mod is? expansion but not an entire game? Oh well, Ive downloaded it and logged on, when i select "Play" with the automatch thingy ppl aint even on there, why is that? and when i go to multiplayer its barely any games up, im just confused. Am I really late cos ive read some topics etc and found out the mod have been up for a while. Thanks you and please answer :)

What do you expect? That EF has the same community as vcoh? That would be over 5000 player each day :O

If you want to play some games in EasternFront you got to have patience, host a game yourself and wait for ppl to join. At the moment Online games in EasternFront mod is largely non existent. New players either skirmish brigdemaps with cpus or quit because of lacking patience to find a game.

It will be a mod forever. The EF devs won't ever charge to play this mod. It has the potential to be officially endorsed by GR as the unofficial expansion but they'd rather play an inferior version. Feel free to try and sway a few people into joining the mod.

Automatch is a barren wasteland because the competitive community would have to come over in bulk in order to have the numbers to continue it. It would take a very large event (release of Ostheer) for this to happen.

Basic matches aren't as scarce as you think. Many people do play compstomps but there are a lot of people who also play competitive matches, just in the basic match lobby. Try adding a few people from the "multiplayer names" thread who play often.

Exactly. Just add a few friends get some of your vCoh friends over and start playing :)

it is sad how most of the time you cant find a non-compstomp EF game. pre planned games are the only option. long live EF!

I am almost always on EF. If you see me on there (FLgator) friend me. We usually have a few good games a night. Some regulars are Killar, Apeman, Glimmerman, Luiernst, Yhcrana, Hwangmihee, Vonklaus, and any name with the sublime prefix. Friending these people will increase your chances of having 1-3 EF games a night. However, if you are new, it is important not to play the sublimes right off. Sometimes JBconquerer and Zackmenka are there, but I haven't seen them in a while.
The above poster is correct in that you must have patience. Usually if you are willing to wait for 5-10 minutes you can get a pretty good game. 

I feel that the Soviets are somewhat uncompetitive right now (too slow starting), and all of my friends are waiting for Ostheer before we get into the game again. But once Ostheer arrives, we'll all be online plenty!

Yeah once Ostheer comes out that will be probably Ef 's final chance at a extreme restart for popularity as lots of people love trying new mods. And since alot of ppl wanted vCOH to expand to EF, they'll like having both Ostheer and Soviets to play and for the most part, balanced and finished, without any changes to vCOH

final chance? i hope not. hopefully people will just wake up and say,"oh, Eastern front is awesome" and get back on.

Just don't release it early so people stop playing..

Don´t be so pessimistic. Why will this not happen?

im a regular through thrusday to saturday night just not this weekend because of social events and studying for midterms but next weekend im sure ill be on(FOXYJAGER)

i know Saturday nights used to be EF night for some people, does that still happen? if not we should revive it

In waiting for Ostheer to come I have enjoyed playing nch mod on the combiner, it adds alot of silly fun.

Whats a combiner mod ???

Well the kind folks at the NHC Mod built a Combiner mod that you can install at the same time as the regular NHC mod, it adds the Soviets  into our NHC play time, stat changes to make it on par with all the other factions in the game, but otherwise is exactly the same, unit wise.

is it fun?

Its crazy, dunno if oyu would call it fun, but i find it quite entertaining to call in a Maus, a Jagdtiger and a King Tiger onto the battlefield all at once, as well as have a ton of Ace units roaming the flanks
