This is probably the best match i have played in the last year or 2, its just awesome how well me and my partner did.

Well played, but US player hasn't played in the best way; he throw away all his MP losing the 2 Snipers in a row against ACs.
He didn't deploy any AT gun, and when he dopped a Parachuted 57mm was too late.

Good control of the Russian player.

New stuff, couple of games me and Fishhunter played a few days back, we would both like feedback on both games

Game 1: Neosdark (PE-Tank Destroyer) vs. Fishhunter (Soviets-not sure of doctrine)


Game 2: Neosdark (Soviets- Urban) vs. Fishhunter (Wehr- Terror)
This game is the one I really want feedback, I suck as Soviets, but did almost win so I really need feedback on this game.

I never picked a doctrine the first game :P. I didnt even think anything would help me at that point  :'(

I could give you some small advice about the second game myself(even though Im not an expert) If you dont think my advice is good or if someone thinks its wrong then thats fine b/c honestly im a noob :P.

You centered your forces at the middle (like me) but never tried to attack the right VP with anything serious (except random Partisans) Only near the end did you try to assault that VP with Sturmitove but rushed them all down one spot rather that attack at both lanes

Also you never had any heavy mortars or artillery bases despite the fat I was HEAVILY infantry based and was just holding out till my Ace came out (which I thought was a KT XD)

You happened to have lost all ur snipers, including your sniper ace (whch was fortune for me). You continued to fire at my soldiers even though my sniper was tryng to counter snipe you(and failed the first 2 times XD). I purposely had my soldiers run around to reveal ur sniper

You kept making KV-85s and IS-2s and should have made AT guns with gunery upgrade instead. Also when my Ace was badily wouded you didnt really pursue it :P. Although I dont think you could've

You kept your med truck, tanks, and soldiers in the middle despite the fact I kept bombarding you with my mortar and later lost you CS and some Guard b/c of this (firestorm  :P). Later I killed ur tanks with Paks.

And honestly I dont think Urban was the best doctrine choice for you. I think propaganda would've been better :P. Or BT b/c you liked making tanks  :D. And for some reasn you kept droping flares like they were recon planes :P

Yea, I haven't learned the lesson of flares to well until today, they affect both my and your troops, its kinda annoying imo.

And yea, me and Soviets don't really work. PE is where I shine imo, I know how to use them and I love using them.

My other problem is that I tend to ignore the 2nd tier. I hate THs, mortars are like my worst enemies too. Artillery bases are way too inaccurate for me, I only use snipers and then I tend to use them improperly, I use them too aggressively because I am too used to using the two man sniper team (but actually having them act like snipers not some observer team) which I used to use very aggressively.

I chose Urban by sheer accident I was going to choose Prop, I had tons of munis and I knew I'd be sitting on it, but in my stupidity I mixed the two up. Trust me I was planning to Katuysha you to death.

I lost when you began to get Vet 3 Grens, then I knew it was over. The DP-28 upgrade on the Strelky became useless, PPSh-41s would be kinda useless too. Guards could do nothing too. I just decided to do whatever at that point

Guards are good vs Vet 3 Grens. But you weren't really trying to avoid my grenades :P. Partisans can also do good dmg to them(so I've heard) but you werent really attacking with your partisans.

Also the reason ppl find the ary base inaccurate is b/c it hits everything behind the reticule, not in it :P. You need to aim the target circle ahead of your enemy, not on it :P

Neo, if you're facing Grens vet 2 and up as Soviets, then just do what USA does, and get 1-2 snipers to counter the Wehr player's heavy investment in infantry.

Unless he already bought one during T1, he'll likely have trouble scraping together manpower to buy a countersniper after investing so much manpower in vet.

And is it just me, or am I the only one who cannot DL replay attachments from the forums anymore?

@Yauz: neos actually had 2 regular snipers IIRC and a sniper ace. IIRC one got (stupidly) by MG fire, another got killed by my volks, and his sniper ace got counter sniped.

And I was actually floating a bit of manpower but I ran out of pop cap so I just started buying tank and support vet

Lots of forum uploads don't appear to work so well, instead giving an index.php file.

BTW, I don't know why you were both fighting for the middle in the Semois game; there's a measly 10 muni there altogether. The high resources are on the edges, if either of you had capped them it would have put that player at a big advantage. Was kinda hard to watch :/

Guys I need your help to make this shit happen.  After recording everything on Fraps and after stitching and compressing the fucking avi files together with VirtualDub, I now have a huge single video file of 14.6 GB.  What do I do next?  I don't want to upload to youtube because it cannot allow videos longer than 15 minutes, and I really don't want to split my video.

Doesn't Youtube now allow hour long videos and even larger?

Not sure about youtube, but what about the 14.6 GB size?  Even though its already "compressed", is that a normal size for a 1 hr long video?

I would say most definitely not. Or, on the other hand maybe it is I don't really know. But it seems wrong considering I've downloaded movies at 720p at way less than that.

And Im glad that Sublime(Snugz and Yauz, you get the idea :P) is taking such effort to do this shoutcast of our(neos and me) game :D. Many thanks ^^

Try compressing it using custom settings in Windows Movie Maker, you can adjust the res and framerate which should knock a few GB off the file size. Uploading to Youtube should be fine if you can arrange the videos into a Playlist.

Thank you Yauz, it was extremely informative and I loved and payed close attention to the critique. My problem is I have slight nervousness issues, particularly in long games, my hands start shaking like crazy and I start losing track of my individual units, gets quite annoying as you can imagine.

Still my main game problems are still my tendencies to send troops in by themselves, thus panic, retreat improperly, and my improper command of large masses of troops (stems from my old AoE III days, not too much micro involved other than sending in the right units to do the right job and properly moving back skirmishers when the cavalry came by, not to mention that most units can still do every other units jobs, anyway, I digress.)

Another, game, this one is short and sweet. It demonstrates how even higher ranked (he was level 11 with Wehr) players can lose their bearings when confronted with simple tactics and proper use of cover. He gave up at the end, particularly when he saw my tanks, but in my personal and honest opinion, I think he might have just gotten lucky by playing a lot of noobs to get his level. He was a bad Wehr player overall, not employing snipers at all, nor using his support troops properly. Also includes an awesome use of the CS artillery >:D

Was this game played pretty well? If so then maybe Sublime can shoutcast it :P

Really? I don't think its too good of a game on my opponent's part and I wouldn't think it to be particularly epic, because I feel like I humiliated him a bit

Honestly I wouldn't know :P. I never really figured out how to insert replays. I always like replays when they were youtube videos :D. If it was really as bad as you say then I guess you shouldn't send it in. But if its decent then send it in ;). After all our game on Semois was only decent but it got shoutcasted ;D

Well I watched the replay. Im no expert but I think the thing he did wrong were:

-Bad MG placement in the building. He had 3-4 MGs and he placed them in strange, unusual spots. What was even worse was that their LOS was blocked but he didn't do anything :P. Sure he got a lucky shot at 2 Strelky squads but still, they could have been used better.

-I dont think he was paying attention too much. He had 2 Volks squads in the same spot of cover and when the smoke dropped, he did nothing. Also early on he should have had his volks fallback to where his MG was. In addition his pios were just standing around at times. And they tried to take on a conscript squad (which ended badly for him)

-No mines. You had no sturmitove and he had a good amount of muni but I saw no mines at all.

-When he saw that you were heavily entrenched and camping he should have bought a mortar. And maybe a sniper to countersnipe.

BTW neos whats you fascination with this map? ;). You always seem to do 1 vs 1 games on Prague :P. I personally find this map to be very big :P
