Soviet suggestions 6

While initial release nears, I have some ideas for a future update:

1. Add the 85mm aa gun as a buildable defense
2. Add the option of adding a zis-3 to concrete bunkers and camoflage
3. Add an assault squad upgrade for the regulars: gives the regulars the ability to throw several grenades at a target and pour fire on a target to pin and clear houses, which unlocks:
4. Add a guards assault squad upgrade for regulars, killing two men but adding pps-43s, satchel charges and similar stats to guards rifle squad with an rpg-1 ability

Re: Soviet suggestions 6

Nice ideas :

1) Like the german flakwerling (or something else :P)

2) Yeah but it would be more easier than the other factions (and the brits !!!) to build good defenses

3) Like the wehr assault ability with blitzkreig

4) Yeah but it will be cheaper to do regulars by this way instead of the real unit, or if this upgrade will cost ammo or fuel etc ....

Re: Soviet suggestions 6

thX for feedback:

1. The 85mm was more like the flak88 but quite weaker

2. The zis-3 would be about 125 munitions and the bunker could not have a machine gun, so it'd be expensive, but useful for ambush

3. this is the general idea, just that the soviets INVENTED this tactic in Stalingrad- seems a shame that they can't have it because of the german ability...

4. I've thought several times about how you could add a guards assault squad to eastern front: perhaps it could be an upgrade for sappers- 150 manpower and 20 munitions, with the sappers losing the ability to build

some new suggestions:
5. fortified buildings: add the ability to upgrade houses with Russian infantry inside (like americans) adds two ptrds and two ptrds to the house and makes it a reinforcement point

6. Replace the il2 with the t34 c3: see soviet suggestions 5, but with another ability: call in pe-2 light bomber. Acts like the hs129, but has smaller guns and more shots, drops four bombs on the area: anti tank

Re: Soviet suggestions 6

Hi !

5) Why do you want to add 4 PTRD in the house ? It will take pop ?

Re: Soviet suggestions 6

Not four ptrds, two, with two dp-28s, takes 4 pop

Re: Soviet suggestions 6

The idea of fortifying forward bases sounds quite fitting for the faction. However, making it cost population may not work; I would rather have the same units and be able to walk around with them and garrison buildings.

Re: Soviet suggestions 6

yeah, the idea is that u turn the occupied building into a sort of forward hq like for americans. Its based off Pavlov's house

Re: Soviet suggestions 6

Aye that sounds like a good idea, and like WartyX said it fits with the faction.
Maybe don't enable so many units to be built from it as the americans can, but can be used to reinforce squads and set up a few defensive measures.

Re: Soviet suggestions 6

I think as far as some sort of anti air unit goes the 85mm is a good idea too, either that or include the T-90 after the first release as I dont think the Soviets currently have a unit that serves that purpose.

About adding ZiS-3 to bunkers I think it might make the Soviets fortifications a little too powerful, seeing as the ZiS-3 is part of a doctrine as well.

The assault squad upgrade is really good too and fits with the faction pretty well, pretty sure everything will be done by now but after release I'm sure there'll be a few areas which can have stuff added to them.

Re: Soviet suggestions 6

The Ingenery have an Assault upgrade; in a good game they can end up with body armour, satchel charges and flamethrowers. Guards are also built for assault; they can't be supressed.

Re: Soviet suggestions 6

I like the sound of assault engineers: can u increase their stats as part of the upgrade though to guard levels? Just that the guards assault squad idea would counterbalance the long range nature of the standard guards squad: historically, the guards were used in both roles. Perhaps for balance they should lose the ability to build base buildings?

the tank riders ability needs to apply to guards and sappers as well- guards used the ability a lot

and I know I've suggested this before, but how about an upgrade for the katyusha to increase the rocket number to 48? With a cost of 100 munitions per katyusha, it'd be quite a punch, but a really expensive and vulnerable one

85mm upgrade should also apply to the su-76- if u culd upgrade it to the su-85, it'd allow for more diverse forces

Re: Soviet suggestions 6

We scrapped the SU-76 in favour of the T-90 light tank.

Re: Soviet suggestions 6

Oh... That's a shame- perhaps the su85 could be a vehicle unlocked by the 85 upgrade instead?
