How to reinstall/ Uninstall Directx ?? Duke Nukem probs

Hi guys. Iam having troubles with my computer :C

I bought Duke Nukem forever for like a month ago and finish it in like 2 days. Great game ( no, dont even go their, its a masterpiece! XD)

However today when I wanted to replay it all, I finish the first level and during the loading to level 2 the game froze. The timehour mouse icon appeared and I ctrl alt deleted out to the desktop. And this baby was there.



I tried google it but the only one with the same problem were some french guy. I google translated his thread and they said I should reinstall directx9 and 10 ?

Well I dont trust the French! XD

Well Now when you mention it. I installed FO3 the other day and that game froze also at the beginning (just after you are born and its suppost to be ONE YEAR LATER.)

But its strange. It worked before. However it should be mention that I have been rebooted my computer 3 times in only this month and the computer is brand new LOL XD

(First time Windows updated itself when I turn the computer off and when I tried to start it wouldnt let me in just restarting itself. Rebooted

, second time I put some photos from a memorycard on the computer and when I tried to start it the next day samething.
It wouldnt start so I had to reboot it again.

And the third time (like 3 days ago?) I played something on steam. And when I quited steam commercerial went up about some ATI graphic free update. Sure I though and installed it. Blue screen appeared .

When I started it again no games would work. I went with system reset to a previous point before that installment. Everything seemed to work . COH worked at least. But FO3 and Duke Nukem froze. Hmm, I guess that bitch fucked up my graphic or something... Help me out ? ;<

which windows do you have? win7 has all dx data. I dont think dukenukem overwrites any of it. But you can try to update your dx.

I think you should talk to whoever you bought it from, mate. If it's brand new, sounds like you got fucked over...

I have Windows 7 yes sir ^^ No no, Duke Nukem doesnt overwrites it at all. It worked perfectly before so ;S Update I have done but still same prob ;C

Yeah exactly what I have been doing. I went to the shop were I bought it and told them about my problem. ( this was before the ATI issue though) and they said it was because I havent updated it. Because you have to update the windows yourself.

IMO thats pure bullshit because It have been set on windows autoupdate straight out from box. I actually put it off now because the first time the computer died it was thanks to the update itself XD

Red Orchestra works also btw.

Anybody know how to fix it or should I go and simply return this piece of junk computer and get a new one. To me it seems to be manufacturing defects.

Boy, Now I know how the boys felt when they were deployed with brand new Panthers at kursk XD

Nope, Windows Update can update drivers, but they are not priority so, unless you go to windows update and check the drivers updates by yourself, you will need to update your drivers manually.

If your computer shop is anything like mine when i first bought my P.C. back in 2006, there is really no point in arguing with them. They just spout bullshit like 'that game doesn't work because it's too new' or 'that game doesn't work because it's too old'... ::)

You're probably best off pressuring them for a straight-up refund.

Well, thanks for the help guys ! Iam tired of this computer now. Its to sensitive for me XD Happily I bought the insurance and all for it so It shouldnt be any problem.
