"Rise of the Opel Blitz"

Ostheer Suggestions

"Rise of the Opel Blitz"

I wrote about the Opel Blitz before in the unit suggestion but it's not completed because I write it down right away after thinking.
This is the completed idea.
Role: Ammo/Fuel Opel Blitz will secure sectors. Ammo Opel Blitz will sercure and increase ammo from that point, the fuel one is same. Maybe, ammo/fuel Opel Blitz can secure the strategic point and make it become a low (maybe medium after upgarde) ammo/fuel point base on which truck.
Way to have: become availabe after "Priority Supply Line", they should be a call-in unit and can be call-in seperatedly.
Get benefit from Improved Communications of Army Fortress Troops doctrine, isolated secured points still provide resources.
Thanks for reading and feel free to criticize.

Re: "Rise of the Opel Blitz"

This sounds a lot like a BK Unit...

Re: "Rise of the Opel Blitz"

No, locking-down units should work the same with all sectors. Having specific resource trucks for the relevent territory is over-complicated.

Strategic Points don't provide increased income when secured anymore, either. Not sure if changing them to another point is a good idea, but i don't think it would be feasible...

Re: "Rise of the Opel Blitz"

I like your suggestion of using Opel Blitz' as transports and resource securing vehicles for the OH. Anything more than that is too complicated for no reason though.
If you get into an argument with me, you're wrong.

Re: "Rise of the Opel Blitz"

that sounds cool it should have some kind of machine gun for infantry defense while its locked down and would increase resource income for that sector and block doctrine abilitys from being used in said sector and show units through the fog of war and maybe even if its not too OP collect dead infantrys like a med bunker and spawn squads
Soviet is OP

Re: "Rise of the Opel Blitz"

Mhhh wasnt the idea to gain higher ressources by unit superiority in a sector?

For the next OStheer sneaky some concepts could be released:

- how to gain higher ressources?building outpost or unit superiority?

- mp, munitions or fuel upkeep

Yes, the Opel blitz will be like a sitting duck. Easy prey for tank hunters and AT guns.

Re: "Rise of the Opel Blitz"

In fairness, the Scout Cars MG42 is pretty useless. It's main advantage is being able to secure sectors anywhere in the territory, which was nerfed for some stupid reason.

How many unique things does the ostheer really has?  :P

Re: "Rise of the Opel Blitz"

New way to build units? New kind of units (LeIG 18 or the StG-44-Marksman)? New vet-system? xDDD
May the force be with you.

Let alone that they don't know how ostheer will secure territories :P.

Redesigned Nebel and Sniper. If opel that can carry troops and lock down without an upgrade isnt original, LeIG 18 or the StG-44-Marksman arent original too.

Well spoken. That's what I like to see as one of the last missing pieces of the Ostheer puzzle.

Re: "Rise of the Opel Blitz"

You can only be so original in a game set in real history. What do you want from these guys? Orks and robots? ::)

Nope, sorry but you were wrong there. If you think like this you can say american units were ripped off and the result is every other faction.

Redesigned nebel and redesigned sniper? So, how the LeIG should work? does it need to fly to be original enough :P? Should the marksman dig tunnels and surprise the enemies from above ;D? Obviously a LeIG will work as it used to in WW2, and so the marksman.

Re: "Rise of the Opel Blitz"

I agree with blackbishop here. Remember how similar the original armies are? Engineers/Pioneers, Snipers, Mortar, H.M.G. & A-T Teams. They are very similar.

Re: "Rise of the Opel Blitz"

What I want first, is using of old models of the Ammo/Fuel Opel Blitz, which is showed after the 1.0 is out. So I found out the way opel blitz becomes the sector secure.
My idea have nothing to do with the BK mod, with the ability to still get resource from isolated sectors, it's a really good advantage (a little OP) but make sense with a aggressive faction (bloodlust/maliness ability). It's not unique but different, PE and brits have unit can lockdown, but all the ways they really work is different so like the Opel Blitz. At least, me and the opel blitz tried to let they can appear in the Ostheer.
PS: Opel Blitz in BK works different (I never use it in BK mod so I'm not sure) and EF's Opel Blitz model is different too. I have nothing else to say ;D

Re: "Rise of the Opel Blitz"

just an idea for opel blitz what if you built a building in the sector you wanted to secure and opel blitzes (one at a time) drove from off map to the building and back again off map, once they go off map again the deliever the extra reasorces in one big chunk. But your emenies would have a chance to destroy the opel blitzes preventing you from getting the extra reasorces. This would repesent how the osheer had large supply lines and were vulerable to partizan/cammado attack.

Re: "Rise of the Opel Blitz"

Its unique but sounds like C+C to me :P. Also IDK if they can do that in the game b/c it might be too complicated.

Re: "Rise of the Opel Blitz"

It would actually be pretty cool of the Opel could work like a cheap version of the PE halftrack.  It transports troops who can also shoot out, which I think that was possible in the real war, but it is also cheaper than PE inf HT, because it has no MG attached itself.
