A war movie without the gey stuff

War movies like Pearl Harbor or Enemy at the Gates would be great but the romance part and the pathetic Hollywood feel...
...and then It was born.  :o 8)  :-[
Some guy on youtube cut Eastern Front 1941 movie leaving only the good parts... 8 tasty 10 minute long battlescenes. Heres the first part
Eastern Front 1941 War movie1/8 Днепровский Рубеж
...I wanted to post this in Off topic discussions first but you cant be more Eastern Front than this. :P

Re: A war movie without the gey stuff

As a moviebuff myself I know this already. A really good behind the scenes actually :D. I was more thinking of the realism of the movie itself. Not behind the movie itself I understand that ( You can actually see thats its pure effect explosives and not the real thing thanks to the cute goat just standing still and peaceful during an freaking artillery barrage XD).

I wounder more Why they chosing to have a scene in the movie were the goat gets a grenades at its feet that explode and perfectly survives Knightcross holders style!? XD

Re: A war movie without the gey stuff

From the beginning, let the goats run around a battle scene is stupid, it doesnt make the film more relistic, the next is the editor too sleepy to cut that stupid scene. Maybe that goat is the favourite pet of director ;D

Father of my friend was in the military (as a Saper) and detonated some explosives. A goat came by and it blow its head off. True story, so I guess it does make the film more relistic. The film budget was just to low to kill it or train it a trick to drop dead (not move) on command.
Goats probably are curious and like to walk in wierd places (like mountains)... unlike lets say cows or horses.

Re: A war movie without the gey stuff

From what I mean is "more", actors/actresses are wearing uniforms and shooting each other is kinda enough to people understand that's a war movie :P
That's why there are no cows run around battlefield in a bridge too far ;D

If your looking for realistic war movies try Soldier Blue, 1970
Kurasawa's Samurai Westerns  are pretty good too. THere might even be a goat in THe Seven Samurai.
