What do you guys think? Do you think it will mean no Company Of Heroes II, at least for a long time?

Well, i like DoW games but if they delay CoH games it's a shame :(.

Truthfully we are all hopping for a CoH 2, a game in which Relic doesn't listen to any "pros" or "noobs", but just makes a game, just like when they first released CoH, that is balanced and bisected fairly to the point where one faction doesn't have any particular advantage over another, but still looks different enough to say that they don't look like the same unit with a different name. We all share that dream (and i personally hope that such a game will be more mod friendly and take place in Vietnam)

Because there are plenty of conflicts which won't take place in CoH we know.

Because CoH gets stale from time to time, it's time to change disks. THQ has a largely untapped fanbase when it comes to CoH, so a sequel is somewhat inevitable.

CoH II I imagine is cooking, but they will need to put some thought into it to keep it from becoming stale. Personally, WW2 will be acceptable but will get boring without vast amounts of content. Anything to do with the future or modern warfare would be pants since the market is saturated with this shit at the moment. Vietnam or some alternate Cold War WW3 type scenario would be ideal... for me anyway.

I'd enjoy US vs. Iraq  2003 :)

They might as well just take the rights of C&C Generals from EA...

Actually, a remake of the original Red Alert in the essence engine would be hella sexy.

But yeah, apparently their going to announce a new game in August... we'll have to wait and see if it's a CoH sequel...

DoW3 was (unofficially) announced over a year back. No news here.

Relic have confirmed (I think) that their "major announcement in August" is related to CoH.

DoW III oh please god no the original and its expansions were the best DoW II meh imho, also the problem with CoH 2 is that I'd imagine Relic to stick to historical battles etc. But heres the thing what major conflicts since WW2 have had as cut and dry fations/sides as WW2, Vietnam? Thats just america and viet cong not alot there for expansions, cold war? america and russia yet again not alot in the way of expansions there. Modern conlicts could probably be the best route but that would require a fictional scenario and im getting tired of fictional scenarios set in a modern/slightly futuristic setting.

Umm Vietnam had tons of factions, I would put in America, South Koreans (YES THEY SERVED THERE), the South Vietnamese for the Anti-Comintern and the Vietcong, Pol Pot's Communist Kampuchea, and the Vietnamese army itself as the Communist forces.

Sounds like 3 factions right there for each group and we theorists can also add, Communist China and Soviet Russia, Australians and New Zealanders.

Its on Wiki. And when they shut down CoHO Relicput forward a statement saying they were going to 'Announce the next step in the franchise in the near future' or something along those lines.
