EF Launcher "Settings"

Few questions, I believe I have a basic understanding of these settings you can modify yourself. But I want to be sure so my game is running as optimised as possible

CPU Count- What is this? does this refer to dual core or single core? I have a dual core processor and have it set to "1 or 2" just to be safe

Process Priority- I have this set to high, even though not sure what it does? I want EF to be my PC's #1 priority so should I have it at high?

Triple Buffer- no clue what this is so I left it unchecked

Vertical Sync- Again, no idea what this is?

CPU Count -> If you had a multicore/hyperthread processor, you can choose what core is going to handle CoH, when pressing ctrl+shift+esc you get the task manager; checking Performance tab you can see which "core" or group of "cores" are less "busy" to let them handle the application.

Process afinity -> That means "how the system will classify" CoH - EF. That will decide how much priority EF has while running, giving preference over lower processes in reading-writing tasks.

Tripple Buffer -> Gives CoH - EF permission to use and additional buffer to improve the performance at the cost of more graphical resources. Let's say, sometimes, the frames aren't ready to be shown in the screen, having to wait until the next refresh sequence to be added; what Tripple Buffer uses additional memory to allocate new frame sequences, to avoid the former situation.

TL;DR Tripple Buffer makes the PC have "next screens" prepared before they are needed in order to bring better visuals, but costs you graphic memory.

Vertical Sync -> This locks the frame rate to the monitor's framerate(usually 60Hz~75Hz).

Cool thanks black bishop, so since I have a dual core processor should I be setting the CPU count to 2?

Yeah. As far as i know, the only motherboards that support literally multiple processors are for specialzed server computers.

Also, people like to have v-sync turned off for benchmarking, but i honestly can't see why, since v-sync prevents tearing.

Don't know, check how much charge that core has before deciding to do it.

I always activate vsync+tripple buffer because my hardware allows it ;D.

Haha, yeah, it's nice when the hardware allows it. ;D Don't know if you have a PlayStation 3 or not, but that console (or just the games i played, i dunno) doesn't have v-sync, so when there's fast movement on the screen, it will often tear pretty bad, often ruining your aim. :(
