Frankly, I have DowII and I think about it like wasted money, DoW I was far more better then DoW II. It was fresh idea, while DoW II= Coh+ Wh40k universum.

Used to play Eldar in 40K and Battlefleet (and High Elves in Fantasy Battle) many years ago but studies and work got in the way.  >:( I painted far more than I played though. I miss that hobby...

everybodys too lazy to play the original version, if you loved the PC game you'd soil yourself when you discover the depth of content in tabletop version.

I agree. DOW2 is nusty thing. First part of strategy is more interesting & more compareble to the board rules. (Am i correct ...)

The only thing I like in DoWII is cover system, even better than CoH one. The rest is.... pretty shitty  ;)

Really? Better than that of Company Of Heroes? :o How does the cover system work, then? Rusty old cars don't provide heavy cover? ;D

no, in CoH when your infantry sometimes chases enemy and run of of cover - poor idiots, while in DoWII infantry will often retreat a bit if they can find cover and they never rush forward. They even prioritize heavy cover than light one.

I think they prioritize heavy cover in Company Of Heroes, don't they? :-\

I haven't noticed that. When my units are shooting at the bad guys from behind cover, they don't tend to run out there unless they are working under an attack order and the unit moves out of range, or they are dodging an explosive of some sort.

Anyway, cover/target priority is just a combat behavior, and can be attuned. As for DoW 2 it's just not worth playing, or even considering to, IMO.

Yeah, when you've got a game with similar mechanics, but so much better (and set in W.W.II), who needs Dawn Of War?

Yeah, i was heavily into the Warhammer 40,000 tabletop and videogames as a kid, but real-time is just so much better than turn-based.

People that are good at DOW will stick to DOW.
People that are good at COH will stick to COH.

I'm a good DOW player but ironically I love COH more!

But they are both made by Relic so what's the problem?

I like DOW I is better that DOW II, even if the AI is crap and units don't take cover. Who needs flashy graphics and combat AI when there is base building, watching flying bodies plus basic direct combat and micromanagement to be done!

On a side note: The campaigns for Dark Crusade and Soulstorm....... sucked....
