Re: Operation Uranus - Kalach (?vs?)

What i meant was, you could ask someone here who has a more reliable computer to make your map for you, since we have the basic idea, and they could occasionally update you on its progress, so you could then give advice on how you would like it. Is that a good idea? :-\

Re: Operation Uranus - Kalach (?vs?)

I don't think that could help... AFAIK WB is buggy as hell, that's why it is unreliable, even on high end pc's. But it's the only tool we have to create maps.
Mors Indecepta

Might controls everything, and without strength you cannot protect anything. Let alone yourself...

Re: Operation Uranus - Kalach (?vs?)

Well then, how the fuck do you guys create such awesome maps?!

Maybe you could bring up the buggy WorldBuilder with relic or something...

Re: Operation Uranus - Kalach (?vs?)

I have never had problems with WB. Neither on my old PC, nor on my new, although I was using Vista ( :-X) in the early days of my mapping time. And I can also say, that I'm working on an EF-Map too. No pics yet for you, but it's coming.

Re: Operation Uranus - Kalach (?vs?)

The only way to prevent such losses I could think of is frequently saving the map, as it changes, into different files (i.e. "map1.sga", "map2.sga", "map3.sga" etc.)

Re: Operation Uranus - Kalach (?vs?)

Send the file to a few people, and when your dumb computer crashs, ask the person who you sent it too to have it back.
The Russians think there sooo tough, wait till the Ostheer comes...

Re: Operation Uranus - Kalach (?vs?)

Or you could just back it up to another hard drive...

Re: Operation Uranus - Kalach (?vs?)

Yea, but that could be corrupt too.

Re: Operation Uranus - Kalach (?vs?)

Well i can't see how.  ??? But then again, i can't see how a crash could corrupt your saves. ??? But then again, i have heard about Fallout: New Vegas crashing so bad you have to reinstall the fucking O.S.! ???
