Just Curious But How Many U-Boats (Not K-Boats Or Other Types Of Subs) Can You List.
(BY NOT CHEATING BY GOING TO ANOTHER WEBSITE AND COPYING A LIST THERE)

That'd be a pretty complete list as far as I know of (please not, I didn't mention the various different 'editions', but I know that of some of these types there are at least 5 different 'editions').

There is no such thing as other u-boats. I would venture to say that other than in the pacific with the u.s. subs, no other sub was viewed as a real threat.

Italian midget subs were a real threat. They damaged a 2 UK battleships in Alexandria. On 10 June 1940 Italy had the most subs in the whole world (116). Thats not a threat?
Japanese sub sunk the cruiser (correct me If im wrong) after it transported a US A-bomb.

And whats wrong with listing US subs anyway?

Germany had large convoys going towards north africa. Did the Italians use them to their full potential like the Germans did, no one did except for the U.S. in the Pacific but the japs didn't believe in a large underwater fleet.
You could point to successes from all sides with their subs but what I meant is that the Germans as far as WWII goes win the submarine trophy.

Italian convoys were defended by their airforce all the way (not a long way) to Tripoli so sending UK subs vs them was a suicide.

And sorry but the US won the sub trophy (and the war too) destroing Japanese merchant fleet. Germany couldnt do that to the British and so they loose.

well, we'll have to agree to disagree. The Germans did have large convoys supplying the Afrika Korps from the south of France to Afrika and Italy to the South Europe. the japs didn't stand a chance, they had a large surface fleet but after the U.S. won air superiority there wasn't much they could do to the U.S. subs or surface.

Yes if I were the Germans I would rely on the FRENCH and the Italians, the worst allies someone could have.
The Germans invested heavily in their submarines because they knew their surface fleet couldn't stand a chance, the U.S. was able to attain such success because the japs didn't believe in a strong underwater force because their surface fleet already rivaled the U.S.

Youre wrong.
Japanese belived in a strong underwater fleet before the war and used their subs to attack the navy becouse of that. Most navies belived that subs are very fragile and all they can do recon or sunk merchant ships. Merchant ships cant defend and you dont need a strong force to take them on.
Germans invested in U-boots while UK invested in commando/SAS raids (1940-1943). Both could never stand up to the might of Wehrmacht/R. Navy and win the war alone.

The Kriegsmarine didn't have to use only their own merchant ships, they did conquer a significant number of countries that border the Mediterannean, thus giving them not the French or Italians more responsibility in supplying their own Afrika Korps themselves.
If the japs did invest heavily in it, why didn't they have they experience the success that a nation like germany did? they suffered similar losses and size of the fleets
