When I press "play game" it doesn't start

You got to give us more then that... Any error, post warnings.log etc...

Let's guess ;D!! Perhaps you didn't install EF on the correct path,

Example of a correct path:
C:\Program Files\THQ\Company of Heroes\

Example of an incorrect path:
C:\Program Files\THQ\
C:\Program Files\THQ\Company of Heroes\AnyFolder
or any other folder different than the Company of Heroes directory one

Uninstall it and install it again on the right path.

yeah I have the same problem I
I use steam and I have tried downloading ef using the default address and it didn't work, then I uninstalled tried again and copy and pasted the steam address and it still dosen't work
I will try again with a rebout of my pc and make sure I don't have a bad space but I don't know whats up. it does say "error Unable to locate Company of Heroes directory" I also have company of heroes and opposing fronts expansion
please help

Could you check what value have the following entry?

Open regedit(Start menu->run->regedit).
Then find this path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Company of Heroes
or if you have a 64 bits OS:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Company of Heroes
Paste the value of InstallLocation here.

You only have steam CoH installed, right?

im also having the same problems as the two above posters. right now i have company of heroes, as well as opposing fronts installed. following your instructions the install location is: e:\programfiles\steam\steamapps\common\company of heroes

Well I don't have either of those exact install locations but I found Steam App 9340 and it has company of heroes stuff
um the InstallLocation is a type REG_SZ data is c:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\company of heroes

and yes I have company of heroes and opposing fronts

That's weird, i don't know if that registry(the missing one) should be created though. I modified the registry to check if it can help you. Run it, it will create the aforementioned registry with the path you provided in your last post.

Try the registry file that i upload in this topic. Remember to edit it replacing his path with yours.

im still getting the "cannont find CoH directory" error, i used that regedit, and edited it like you said (hopefully i did it correctly), but still nothing.

could you post an screenshot of you CoH directory?

i was talking about a screenshot of the directory on the explorer(c:\program files...) :).

But now you mention it, could you check if your Company of Heroes registry have the correct InstallLocation?

You shouldn't have problems finding it, it's on the same level than App4560.

yeah i realized that after i posted that wasnt what you were asking for... Hopefully this is. and the InstallLocation says its: E:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\company of heroes now if thats not it then i dont know how to find it/ dont see another company of heroes folder to go to.

Your directory looks fine, could you post two more screenshots?

One from this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{97AFD0D8-5720-4A59-BFDC-CB92A36FADF9}_is1

and the other from this:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Company of Heroes

there isnt one for the first folder, but here is the 2nd one you wanted

Are you sure? Please reinstall Eastern Front if that registry doesn't exists.

i reinstalled it, and diddnt find it under the path you gave me but i did find it under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{97AFD0D8-5720-4A59-BFDC-CB92A36FADF9}_is1. here is a screenshot of it.

Ok, i didn't know you use Windows 7 x64. Use this file.

I have the same problem that EF doesn't starts when I press the play game button, could you explain another time what I have to do?

Most likel you used a wrong path, I suggest you to uninstall it and when reinstalling double check the path you are using to install EF... it should be CoH relaunched path and you should have installed it as well in order to play EF.
