New Player

Hi Folks,

New to EF and having trouble installing it.  I'm getting an error saying folder can not include the following characters / : * ? etc.  I'm not technical so if there's a "101 way to address" that would be much appreciated.

When promted to select the path for the start menu thingy, delete the ":" character.

This is what I see when installer kicks in:

Set up will install into the following folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\THQ\Company of Heroes

I hit next and get shortcut in the following folder

Company of Heroes Eastern Front\Company of Heroes: Eastern Front

I hit next and that's when I get the error

Remove ":" from "Company of Heroes: Eastern Front"

OK got it.  Just did it and it has installed.  Tks very much.  Now that it's installed how do I launch it?  I can't find icon or launch point.  Tks for your help and patience.  ;)

Check in your Company of Heroes directory for the EF_Launcher.exe. Have you installed Steam or Retail(DVD) CoH??

I have Steam installed but only for one game and do not use it.  I'm running vista and launch the COH from the games tab under the start menu.  Where do I find the COH directory?

Did you have retail version?

steam stores the game under it's file, in a weird place. least for me it did i use vista so it might be because of that idk.
it's in something like steamapps.

took me a while to find it myself.
