Die Schlacht des Otto Carius - The Battle of Otto Carius - By Lord Rommel

Hi guys!
I want to present you my second map for the mod.
The name is "The battle of ( the tigerace ) Otto Carius" and is a two player map!

The history of the map ( Loadingscreen )

Otto Carius ( Ritterkreuz - Knightcross ) explain his battleplan for the raid against the village.

1944 Heeresgruppe Nord took back his frontlines near the town of Dünaburg in Latvia.
In the north of Dünaburg was the small village Kirvani. 2. company of schwere Heeres-Panzer-
Abteilung 502 with his leading Leutnant Otto Carius ( Tiger 217 ) drove to this town to spot the
Rollbahn near Dünaburg. During the ride the company found a german officer, who said, that
Kirvani was captured by russian armour. A german Sturmgeschütz-Abteilung was hit very hard and had high casualties. Carius spoted the village and found a number of russian tanks. He dicided to attack the village with two Tiger-tanks supported by the rest of the Zug commanded by Leutnant Nienstedt ( 6 Tanks ). Carius and Feldwebel Kerscher drove with topspeed into the village an opend fire. The first russian T-34 were killed. In the Towncenter Carius and Kerscher made a unattended discovery. In front of a barn they saw a russian tank which looks like the new german Kingtiger but Carius discovered the russian construction design and opend up fire. The new tank was hit. It was the first JS II Tank in the north of the eastern front and it was the first destroyed JS II in the north. After 15min the Tigers had killed every russian soldiere in the village. 22 russian tanks were destroyed by Leutant Carius and Feldwebel Kerscher and their crews.
With the battle of Kirvani 2. company of schwere Heeres-Pz-Abtl. destroyed the 1st russian Panzer-Brigade <<Josef Stalin>>. Some persons called this battle the Villers-Bocage of the eastern front.

Some days after the battle Otto Carius was wounded and came back to germany. 1945 Carius commanded the 2. company of the schwere Jagdpanzerabteilung 512 on wester front.

The map:

North: Startingposition Player 1 ( Wehrmacht )
South: Startingposition Player 2 ( Red Army )
Mapsize: dont know xD
Ressources:
Fuel: 2x Medium, 2x low, 1x high ( mapcenter ) - total: 46 fuel
Munition: 2x high, 4x medium - total: 72 munition
Manpower: 2x high

( Mapfinish today was a bit too hasty - timeprobs )
But i think that i will be able to finish the map on friday and post a beta download here
( thursday i have enought time to finish this map ^^ ).

I had a little test of map. There is one bug with the fire:


I would suggest this:
    -remove Knight Cross holders from map
    -remove Tiger and Stug or make them to I can't hear sound of their engines
    -change ingame name as described here
    -SGA archive must contain scenarios/mp/ folders too
    -you should work more on detailing the map with splats to map look much better  ;)


And one optionally thing: inside that village where is crop planted, you could maybe make some garden with vegetables and that stuff.

Okay. It is a beta map, so i'm very happy about every little idear to make the map better.
So i will use more splats for mapatmosphere.

Sry for this. Have probs to pack this sgas. I think i'm too stupid to do it right ;)

And two questions:
- The Mapname ingame ist 2p_The_Battle_of_Otto_Carius oder The Battle of Otto Carius?
( and you are right. I have forgot the ( 2 ) player information after "The Battle of Otto Carius" - Will fix it. )
- The mapbalance; do you think the resspoints are okay or what do you think about this point?

And a mappingquestion:
How can i mute the Tiger and StuH because i will not delite them.

resource points are fine, no need for changing. For tiger, hmmm, I really don't know how to do that, but ask on RelicNews forum, I think to someone will answer you there.
