Eastern Front + CoH:Ritterkreuz

Good evening, Ladies & Gentlemen.


First of all a special word of praise. Ur Eastern Front Mod is amazing!


In order to see the Soviets even more often, I hereby wanna ask for permission to include them into my Mod: CoH:Ritterkreuz (german for: "Knightcross") [Link].

Ofc the EF Modding Team will earn Credits and (if u like to) a link to your origin EF mod page.


What can u lose :
Nothing. I even wont bother u with annoying question about editing in Corsix.

What can u win:
Even more fans (these playing CoH:Ritterkreuz)
A new view of your russian army (cause i will rebalance the stats to better fit into CoH:Ritterkreuz)
Perhaps u can even grab some new ideas for ur own mod, too.

Hm...i really can´t agree with ur update, Snug.

Can the EF-Mod suffers a loss of dignity
if another mod takes it as an inspiring example?
In which way?

"dignity" is not a proper synonym for "nothing", pal.

I'm fairly sure the rule goes that you can modify and change the EF Mod but only for your private use and not for redistribution

The point is that I don't think that the Eastern Front Devs will give you the permission for including their mod because think about that you want them to give you more 2 years of hard work for free.

Cause i really had the intention to redistribute the file via the Ritterkreuz Mod.

To develop something "playable" and sharing it to other people to have some fun...isnt this the intention of a mod?

Even if it is hard work (for free) i dont think that it would be a waste or harm to share such data.

If everyone who made some good opensource Files (models/skins/..) would think this way, the Modding Scene would be dead.

(Cause in my opinion, it is important, to share&compare ideas to further improve the "project" -> the mod.)

I agree with walki1. it's just impolite to ask for something and having nothing to give back. I guess devs are good people, but they won't give their 2-years work just like that. Remember that we all want to improve EF.

The only things I can "give back" are a few ideas, which will be implemented in my Mod.

So i dont think that my question for permission was impolite in any way
(Indeed it would be impolite to "grab" the files and integrate them in a mod without asking).

A good way to improve something is to get a another point of view.
So my Mod-project would support the whole thing.

But...!
It sounds like the EF-Dev-Crew would "lose" something, if someone implements the Soviets in another mod...

I can´t agree with this thought, cause it wouldn´t affect the "origin-EF" in any negative way.

Afaik Normady 44 is the only mod that will use the soviets. Probably they'll say "No" to your request. But this isn't up to me.

But it's nice to see you're asking for permission... not like someone that tried to merge a lot of mods into one coughworldcoughatcoughwarcough.

Obviously the majority isnt interested in a combination of these two mods.
That´s cause enough to abandon the thought and go on with other stuff.
(atm. i´m working on a "lend lease act - project" to improve the motorpool of the commonwealth...)

Nonetheless i wish the Eastern Front Mod Team good luck in the future.
