Being shot while retreating

IMO, (If it is possible) soviet units should be shot at by allied units (or just by other soviet units whether yours or your allies) while they are in their retreat phase (when they have the big exclamation point on top of their heads). This will make Soviets all that more different from other factions as well as instill Stalin's no retreat policy.

In effect, they'll be considered as Germans while in this phase by the AI. If you manage to make it back to your HQ, then you certainly deserve to be reinforced!

Later in the war the russias did use tacticle retreats, pressing t represend one of those. So if you, the commander, order your men to make a tactikle retreat your own trops would not start to shoot them.
You must also think about how it would translate into the gameplay. A good player would begin to move his soldiers in a way so they didn't stand in your own retreat road and he would order his men to attack the ground when they pass by. It just seems weird that the commander should have to work so hard and give so stange orders to ensure that his soldiers doesn't kill each other.

Haha, that's what I was thinking of when I said it.

In the first Eastern Front version there was no retreat possible for the Red Army unless you use an ability.  There is a trade off between reality and keeping to the same game formula.

What do you think about a vehicle retreat command?
