Ive downloaded this mod 4 times...
Please keep in mind that im a newcomer.
I keep uninstalling this mod because I get frustrated with it, then forget about it and come back to it saying Eastern Front :D
In my opinion, the single greatest imbalance in this game is conscripts.
Allow me to illustrate: What do the Russians need to do to get an easy victory?
Spam Conscripts, lots and lots of conscripts. They cost no population, so you can have legions of them overrun the map and capture all the points before the Axis even realize theyre doomed.
Many say that this is irrelevant since conscripts are very weak (ive already read through a few topics on this board).
True, but at least for a few minutes the Russians will be in control of 80% of the map, accomplishing 2 things:
1) Deny the Axis much needed supplies in the early game. Everyone knows the Axis are strong later as opposed to now, by cutting of much needed supplies so early, the Axis are stillborn and it becomes very difficult for them to survive.
2) Generate huge fuel and munitions for the Russians. The Russian player can then use this stockpile to begin reinforcing the conscripts in the field with rifleman that actually do something, making a breakout from this checkmate harder for the Axis. If the Axis dont break this deadlock early, then the Russians will eventually gain access to Red Banner infantry and Tank Hunters and yep you guessed it more Conscripts, making an effective Axis counter attack nigh impossible.
Imagine playing a Panzer Elite game were scout cars cost no pop. That is what happens every time (in my case) you play against a Russian.
Please keep in mind this is me after experimenting a few games in Skirmish mode.
Ive checked the stats after every game and found that the Russian player has a 2-1 recruitment ratio to mine. Wow.
Another disturbing imbalance is the last Tech Tree for the Russians (forget what its called, its the Tank one).
Youre able to call in off map Shermans, off map T-34s that CAPTURE SECTORS (0_0) and as many of those fixed-heavy gun tanks as you want (I forget what its called).
That particular last one, that heavy tank, should be limited to once per battle. Its the Russian equivalent of the King Tiger and it can be called in multiple times?!?
Just some food for thought.
