Installation issues

Hello

I patched my game (without knowing it needed to go all the way to 2.601 - I have original CoH) up to 2.101, and tried to install. This didn't work, and so I uninstalled both CoH and the 'Company of Heroes: Eastern Front' that were listed in Programs and Features, reinstalled CoH, patched it all the way up to 2.601, and then redownloaded the installer from the ModDB link.

The installer hasn't got the Soviet icon like the one in the installation guide, no icon was created, and in the Start menu folder that was created, the only file is "Uninstall" which is 0 bytes and a '.file' extension.

I really have no idea what to do  ???

Any help would be appreciated.

You can check in CoH directory if there's EF_Launcher.exe, then make a shortcut to the desktop.

Sounds like the download was corrupted, try to redownload it.

Redownloaded it, same thing. Then I checked in the directory and just went through the launcher there - may I just say I am amazed! Fantastic work guys! After this is worked smoothly and played brilliantly.

I'm glad we could help. I'm just curious... do you have the steam version?

@Blackbishop: No I have the disk version, the one that came in the DX10 Edition box.

Is this game hard or am I just bad?!

Do you mean EF? Were you playing against Hard or Expert AI?

EF Ai was boosted to give players a bigger challenge. (So old "normal" is more like "easy" now etc).

Just wondering if you could help? I have created a EF link on my desktop and i double click on it and my screen goes blue then nothing happens it goes back to my desktop. 

Could you advise?

Yeah, EF. I'm slowly working my way around Wehrmacht and USA again, have tried Soviets but I'd like to get my base game down first. Pretty much done the Easy AI on the starting maps.
