command squad combat bonuses?

how do command squad bonuses work? I know they don't act like LTs for brits. But when the command squad gets vet 1, all of a sudden every unit has that red icon below their unit icon.

Can someone explain command squad bonuses to me?

When they get Vet 1,2,3 you have possibilty to choose either global offensive bonus or global deffensive bonus. That means that all units get this bonus ( 5% I think).

I believe it only gives the bonuses to infantry unit. 5% either more damage or less damage taken.

Applies to all infantry units on the field, not just nearby.

Indeed Rizz is right. However, those bonuses are a bit too small at the moment, so we'll either increase them or add 'accuracy' as well...maybe both  ;D

russian are strong enough as they are
especially the panzer elite struggles hard
i played loads of 1 vs 1 vs a friend of mine who is not as good as me but with the soviets everyone is a threat

Panzer Elite has it really easy berating Soviets.

I'd recommend you watch some of the replays from our latest tournament involving PE...I think you'll find its the other way around...

Btw, how about giving +1 CP when Command Squad reaches Vet3? (like british leuts do)

Or how about giving 4 body gourds to every British and German officer?  :D

Remember that the vet's effect is global unlike the Lt's. If you are going to change it, it shouldn't be by much.

The USSR's problem with PE comes from the early ligth vehicles. The vet wouldn't really help much with that problem.

A buff to the commanders peneltration against ligth vehicles would be a better buff.

i agree the wermacht officer and the british Lieutenant and major or captain i dont remember are defenceless to sniper shot
despite that fact this weakness give you motive to protect them and use them wisely at the battlefield so i amm 50 50 to this subject ::)

I don't know the wehrmacht officer, but I think the UK officers have the same armor than KCH.

The Soviet Major himself shares the armour type of Knights Cross Holders and British Officers (Heroic), but his critical type is that of normal Infantry, which means he's OHK'd by Snipers but is a bit less flammable.

His 4 Bodyguards are just standard Infantry with high health though.

Heroic armor, just like USRR majior (not bodygaurds).
Wehrmacht Officer has 140HP (60 more than veted LTs and a Captain) and same armor type and vet bonuses as grenadiers (elite armor at vet 2).

Airborne Armour at vet 2.
A command squad is much better than a Tommy squad+an LT... and twice as cheap.

Are you sure the Soviet major has the same crits as normal infantry? He seems to take several sniper shots to bring down usually, not one.

No, he takes 1. One of my strategy is call "Hit and run" Which means charge at the enemy by complete surprise and run before he gets a fix on you. One of my tricks for the soviets is to get a sniper, shoot the major, run away. Then hes forced to go back to the reinforce point otherwise no charge or arty, giving me a huge advantage when attacking or even defending.

As it is, it's really hard for them to get vet on their own.

I dont think its hard to get XP with commander squad, just have them around your constipts and kill early game pioneers and volks.

I can't - ever - get xp with my command squad :p
In 10 games, I've managed to get vet (1 level) ONCE.

Although I won most of those games, I still can't vet him.

Use him to personally flank MG crews and kill them, rather than with the blob. MG members are worth 2xp per man rather than 1. It only takes 3 MG crew members + 2 volks/pios to vet him to 1. Then his arty contributes to his xp and you should be vet 3 in no time.

i on the other hand i have succeded into vetting the command squad to vet 3 easily by supporting it with strelky 8) and t90

Yes i agree with others in 1.23 its very hard to vet the command squad , perseverance is the key to give vet to the command squad , or you can wait to provide them with pps43 and then take grenadiers or Pg's to earn vet

Sadly by the time you get psshs to the squad they player has way better inf and tanks.

okay zerstoerer you were right
after playing a bit more i realised that especially th Inf-HT and the scout car are crazy vs soviets
but still soviet are cool with the t-70 rush strat of godlikedennis 8)
