Is EF set before, during or after the orginal Coh ?

Ok i was recently posting about the inclusion of the T-35 in EF (which turned out to be a pretty unworkable idea) and it got me thinking:

What exactly is the historical time scale for EF?

If you think about it Coh is only really a snapshot of the Second World War taken from D-day onwards to Operation Market Garden (I'm not 100% sure what Tales of Valour covers).  Operation Barbarossa on the other hand obviously started in 1941, so where does this leave EF?

The reason i mention this is because it has a pretty big impact on the types of units that should be included in both the SU and OH factions.  Do you go for a range of units that cover the entire period from 1941-1945 or should the Mod perhaps focus on a specific time period?  If you do go for a mixture, what ratio should that mixture be?  Also how does all this fit in with the original Coh factions? 

Any thoughts etc welcome  :)

I personaly think coh is a 1944 game, but some people disagree. But I know for sure ef is not 1944.

Well as far as i know original COH is set in 1944. With EF its different...i think devs never stated which year or years in war it covers. Though i think it covers the whole Operation Barbarossa with its teching system. E.g.: Constripts are first infantry with low experience and half of them doesnt have rifles, whereas Guards are battle-hardened and have superior weapons (SVT-40s) to most of Axis units (Kar-98).

At the start of operation Barbarossa every Soviet constript had a rifle and there were thousands of T-26 and BT tanks.

I think it covers the battles from winter 1941 - constript defense of Moscow and Leningrad
Than is a siege of Sevastopol - 1CP trenches and MGs
Stalingrad urban figsts - 2CP Flamethrowers, NKVDs shooting their own troops under MG fire
Stalingrad counteroffensive - Strelky, T-34/76, 4CP BM-13
Kursk battle - Guards, Tankriders
Finally the battles of 1944-1945 T-34/85, IS-2, IL-2 that can enjoy air supiority, powerfull and long arti strikes but not to accurate of Firebases and GoW and Human wave to save time and get to Berlin before US.

Yeah that might be true, but as you know COH is more movie-based, rather than historically accurate. That said the original COH is based on Saving private Ryan and Band of Brothers. In addition the EF mod is based on Enemy at the Gates...the devs said that many times...

I'd like to see things like the T-26 and BT tanks (maybe even the T-28) in EF mainly because i find the design of things like the T-70 a little to generic (although i totally see why the developers included them). 

I dont see much "band of brothers" in coh, the american compain dosent stick to a band of people(besides the sgt)
but rather the cuts are for setting the mood.

Enemy at the Gates hapenes in 1942 or 1943 (or both).  :P
I meant that in june 1941 Soviets had a lot of equipment that they lost and couldnt rebuild till factories at Ural started working (mid 1942).

There are many references to Band of Brothers...perhaps you should play again the American campaign or see those episodes once more. E.g.: The MG in the window on beginning of 3rd mission...that MG team is in a house named "Cafe Normandie" which is exactly the same as the one in Band of Brothers, in fact that episode starts the same, as they walk on a road to Carentan and then an MG fire starts...

Eastern Front is set during the Second World War.

Band of brothers is about a band of soldiers that are really close, not about some ramdom soldiers doing so ramdom battles. Also Normandie is a real place, so am thinking something close to that happende.

You can't possibly say the game isn't based off it.

IMO EF Follows from the start of the war.. Conscripts, T70's, Strelky, T90 etc..

To Inrpoving in the middle, T34/76, SU85, Partisans, LL Sherman..

To being almost unstoppable in the end - T3485, SU100, ISU152, KV2, IS2, Guards, IL2, Katysusha, ML20...

So basically...

It covers the 4 years of war,

Ok you all covinced me that coh is about Band of brothers.

Now need to talk about the first.
